The View from Behind the Chair: Getting back to how it used to be

In this edition: Art Outreach … Clearwater Revival … and Modeling Debut

Greetings, peeps!

The View from the Behind the Chair is the only place you'll hear the secrets people share when they're in the chair.

Chairs in a beauty salon

Hairdresser's scissors and comb

In the first chair, it's sad but true that you just don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. Some in the local art community are buzzing like busy bees on a mission to contact a former Oxford citizen and large-canvas artist who recently decamped to the Big Apple to pursue his "airy" art.

It may be too little, too late, but C'est Belle Gallery is calling for this little fish to return to our little pond.

In the second chair, tirades and tantrums and teen angst, oh my! The compelling pleas of "please" and "ew, it's so gross" were lost in the murky deep of this battle of wills between a local teen and her parents over the upcoming cleanup of Sardis Lake.

For those keeping score: Parental environmentalists, one. Teen transcendentalist, zero.

And in the third chair, you'll never believe which saucy socialite is rumored to be appearing as a “car girl” at Yoknapatawpha's upcoming classic car show. Perhaps this once wealthy heiress has fallen on hard times? Or maybe she's trying to break into show business? Or just hoping to revisit her glory days?

Whatever the reason, she's bound to get some attention for more than just her signature hairstyle and trademark gold hoop earrings at this event.

I'm just hearing, and I'm just saying.
