002223-02: Colt Defender 90 lightweight .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, S/N , capacity 7 + 1 round, 5 rounds remaining; recovered with decedent's body

• Findings:
  • The serial number records indicate the weapon (S/N DR21437) was purchased by Andrew Fine.
  • Five (5) rounds were found in the weapon, which holds a total of eight (8) rounds.
  • The five (5) rounds found in the weapon are consistent in caliber, manufacturer, and type with the three (3) spent casings recovered at the scene (Ev. # 002223-B01 through 002223-B03).
  • The five (5) rounds found in the weapon are consistent with .45 ACP Federal 230gr Hydra-Shok JHP ammunition.
  • The three (3) casings recovered at the scene and the three (3) bullets recovered during autopsy (Ev. # 002223-B04 through 002223-B06) are ballistic matches to this weapon.
  • Minuscule pieces of cloth recovered from the slide and trigger mechanisms. Submitted to Trace Evidence for further analysis.
• Fingerprints:
  • Fingerprints consistent with Andrew Fine were observed and have been excluded.
  • Unidentified fingerprints were observed on the magazine of the weapon.
• Ballistics:
  • The three (3) casings recovered from soil surrounding the body (Ev. # 002223-B01 through 002223-B03):
    • are consistent with the five (5) rounds recovered in the weapon found with the body (Ev. # 002223-02).
    • are consistent with .45 ACP Federal 230gr Hydra-Shok JHP ammunition.
    • are ballistic matches to the weapon found with the body (Ev. # 002223-02).

002223-03: One (1) 375-ml bottle Jack Daniels bourbon whiskey, 2/3 remaining; recovered with decedent's body

• Findings:
  • Analysis of liquid contained in bottle found it consistent with bourbon whiskey.
• Fingerprints:
  • Fingerprints consistent with Andrew Fine were observed and have been excluded.
