If the blood trail is footprints, one would be Dixon going to the phone in the bderoom ( he didn’t say where he used the phone, but a reasonable person would use the nearest one) and then downstairs and to the back door where he threw up. He met officers at the front door. Wouldn’t there have been another trail from front door to back door and another from him going back upstairs with the police? I may be nitpicking.

So luminol tests reveal blood stains leading from bathroom to west hall, down the stairs and to :
1: front door through living room,
2: back door,
3: kitchen sink?
Is the glass in the sink from killer who had a drink after the murder, or from Dixon who had a drink after he vomited? Or is it just an innocent glass that Devlin used. Either way somebody has been to sink with blood on them.
No blood found in the study though, strange, that is where Devlin's cell phone was found and records show it was this phone used to call 911 by Dixon. Dixon said it was the first thing he did after discovering Devlin in bathtub. So if Dixon had blood traces and made tracks through the house you would expect luminol traces to be found in the study.
Killer must have used blue hand towel to wipe blood from their hands. DNA?
Well, anyway forensics have a lot of work to do with all this evidence, they will earn their money on this case.

Could the fact that there were two blood trails (one out the back door and one out the front door) suggest that there was more than one killer, a dominant and submissive duo, the submissive one wanting to get out of the residence asap, whereas the dominant one took the time to go into the kitchen, maybe to clean himself up or the weapons of opportunity maybe, were there no prints on either one of these items, they would have easily done the damage inflicted.
