Oxford Olympic hopefuls Cameron and Caitlin Maxwell are missing, Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department officials said yesterday. The duo's parents, Todd and Robin Maxwell, reported them missing late yesterday after not hearing from them for nearly three days.
The brother-sister figure skating team, once favored to make the Olympic team for Sochi this year, were supposed to travel to Boston to compete in the US Figure Skating Championships, but apparently never arrived.
The Maxwells were last seen at the Magnolia Transit drop-off point at the Eastgate Shopping Center on University Avenue near Highway 7 around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, where they were waiting for the shuttle bus to the airport in Memphis, Tennessee.
Cameron Maxwell, 20, is described as a 5' 9", 170-pound man with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue coat, white shirt, blue jeans and black athletic shoes.
Caitlin Maxwell, 19, is 5' 4", weighs 104 pounds, and has light brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light blue coat, white shirt, blue jeans and white athletic shoes.
Anyone with information about Cameron or Caitlin Maxwell's whereabouts is asked to contact the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department.
