Case Description: Cameron & Caitlin Maxwell homicide investigation

Investigators have compiled the following summary of the witnesses alibis for the window of time when Cameron and Caitlin Maxwell are to have been killed. Information on the results of attempts to verify the alibis is also included.

Alibi: Tucker said he was at home asleep.

Alibi: In her interview, Maggie said she was at home asleep.

Confirmed? No. Maggie's roommate stayed at her boyfriend's place that night.

Alibi: In his interview, Bill said he was on his way to work when he saw a young man running on South 18th Street around 4:00 a.m.

Confirmed? Yes. A co-worker confirmed that Bill was at at work by 4:15 a.m.

Austin Maxwell

Description: The victims' brother

Alibi: In his first interview, Austin said he dropped Cameron and Caitlin off at the bus stop at 3:30 a.m. and went home.

In his second interview, Austin admitted he went to the Dickerson ranch after dropping off his siblings and didn't get home until 5:00 a.m.

Confirmed? Tentative. Ronny Sill said Austin was at the ranch when he claimed.

Robin Maxwell

Description: The victims' mother

Alibi: In her first interview, Robin said she and her husband went back to bed when their children left for the bus stop.

Confirmed? Tentative. Her husband, Todd, is the only person who corroborates her story.

Todd Maxwell

Description: The victims' father

Alibi: In his second interview, Todd said he and his wife straightened up the kitchen and went back to bed when their children left for the bus stop.

Confirmed? Tentative. His wife, Robin, is the only person who corroborates his story.

Description: Cameron's best friend

Alibi: Ryan said he was home alone.

Confirmed? No. None of his neighbors specifically remembered seeing him leave or noticing him at home.

Ronny Sill

Description: Witness

Alibi: In his interview, Ronny said he was at the Dickerson ranch, then stopped by the Lamar Chevron on his way home.

Confirmed? Tentatively. Austin Maxwell said he saw Ronny at the ranch that night. A clerk at the Chevron confirmed that Ronny came in around 5:00 a.m. but couldn't be specific about the time.
