INVESTIGATION CASE FILE NOTE

CASE #: 003516-22G-2022
CASE DESCRIPTION: Alyx Byrns death investigation
ASSIGNED INVESTIGATORS:   Det. Ted Armstrong, Det. Samantha Murphy
DATE: July 23, 2022

At 8:50 a.m. this date, Detective Murphy spoke by telephone with Manish Agarwal, M.D. of the Yoknapatawpha County Coroner's Office. Dr. Agarwal said preliminary tests indicate that the blood alcohol content of Alyx Byrns was extremely high.

Dr. Agarwal did not want to go on record with specific levels, pending the results of additional toxicology tests, but did confirm that Alyx Byrns had consumed alcohol prior to her death.

He added that alcohol was likely a contributing factor to the death, though he could not yet say whether the blood alcohol content was definitively linked to the cause of death.

Dr. Agarwal said official findings would be available in the autopsy report.
