Case #
004378-27H-2023

Investigative Agency:
Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department

The following evidence collected during the autopsy of Kristal Waterson was analyzed with the results shown.

Note: Some findings have been condensed and/or simplified for inclusion in this report.

Areas of the body were swabbed (in duplicate) and submitted for trace analysis using LC-MS and FT-IR. One of each of the swabs was extracted with dichloromethane and water to obtain organic (O) and aqueous (A) extracts, respectively.

The duplicate swabs were stored for future analysis if needed.

 vaginal swab

Positive for polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)

Microscopic examination of the vaginal swab yielded no spermatozoa. The positive presence of PDMS (a lubricant in Trojan latex condoms) is consistent with the lack of spermatozoa. Analysis for nonoxynol-9 (spermicide) was negative. Swab samples were retained for subsequent spectroscopic analysis if necessary.
