INVESTIGATION CASE FILE NOTE

At 8:52 a.m. this date, Manish Agarwal, M.D. of the Yoknapatawpha County Coroner's Office contacted Detectives Sam Murphy and Ted Armstrong regarding some preliminary findings in the autopsy of Kristal Waterson (YCSD Incident # 004378-27H-2023). Dr. Agarwal requested the detectives respond immediately to the Coroner's Officer for further information.

Reporting Investigators (R/Is) Murphy and Armstrong arrived at the Coroner's Office at 9:17 a.m.

Upon arrival, Dr. Agarwal reported that when he removed the ligature from the deceased's neck, he observed two ligature marks on the neck, which he pointed out to detectives. The first was consistent with the belt removed from the neck. The second ligature mark was narrower and inconsistent with the belt.

Dr. Agarwal said the second ligature mark is suggestive of homicide but cautioned that he needed to complete the autopsy before issuing an official ruling.

Investigation of YCSD Case # 004378-27H-2023 is active and ongoing as of this date.
