Serious-looking balding man with dark facial hair

Vincent Fischer interview #2

Thursday, March 3, 2022 – 2:33 p.m.

Vincent Fischer is a Yoknapatawpha County probation and parole officer and was Andrea Stover's sex offender registration officer.

Detectives Armstrong and Murphy talked to him again at the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department.

Participants:

  • Detective T. Armstrong
  • Detective S. Murphy
  • Vincent Fischer

Detective Murphy: Hi, Vincent. Thanks for talking to us again.

Vincent Fischer: I guess. I don't know why you guys need me again, but here I am.

Detective Murphy: You know how it goes. We've just got some follow-up questions. Let's have your name and address again.

Vincent Fischer: Vincent Fisher. 407 Timber Lane.

Detective Murphy: Last time we talked, we discussed your record and how there have been some complaints against you—

Vincent Fischer: And I told you they were all damn lies!

Detective Murphy: That might well be, but we still have to investigate them. How would you describe your relationship with Andrea Stover?

Vincent Fischer: I told you last time. We had a fine relationship. Nothing better, nothing worse. It was fine.

Detective Armstrong: Did you think she was fine, Vince?

Vincent Fischer: I'm a married man. I don't pay attention to things like that.

Detective Armstrong: Oh, so not only do you not grope your cases, but you don't even notice if they're attractive? You're blind to boot?

Vincent Fischer: Look here, detective—

Detective Murphy: Vincent, other witnesses have told us that you're often late to your appointments and that, in general, you just don't respect your cases.

Vincent Fischer: Why should I respect them? They're criminals.

Detective Murphy: And also that you're particularly difficult on the women.

Vincent Fischer: That's not true.

Detective Murphy: Have you ever touched one of your cases inappropriately?

Vincent Fischer: No!

Detective Armstrong: Have you ever propositioned them for sex or any other inappropriate contact?

Vincent Fischer: Screw you, Armstrong.

Detective Murphy: Easy, Vincent.

Vincent Fischer: No, I'm not going to take it easy. I'm not going to sit here and be badgered by people who should have my back. You two are taking the words of criminals and lowlifes over mine. You've been talking to a bunch of lying broads and believing what they say—

Detective Murphy: It's not just the women.

Vincent Fischer: Who else then? That scum Jim Taylor? You're going to believe a man who molested his own child? That's sick.

Detective Murphy: We're not going to argue with you. Are you willing to answer our questions or not?

Vincent Fischer: Both of you can go to hell. I'm not sitting here and putting up with this crap.

Detective Armstrong: We'll go to your supervisor if we have to.

Vincent Fischer: Fine. You do that. But until then, leave me the hell alone.

Interview ended – 2:45 p.m.
