Crime scene canvass

On the day Andrea Stover's body was found, the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department canvassed the Oxford Centre area, looking for potential witnesses.

The interviews summarized are some of the most typical or relevant to the investigation and are representative of all interviews conducted.

Joseph Brady
Cook, Centre Club
Building 3, 2nd and 3rd floors

Mr. Brady said that he arrived at work around 7:30 a.m. that day. He entered the restaurant through the delivery door and began doing prep work for a large catering job.

He said he did not notice anything unusual.

Kristen Davidson
Sales associate, Luxurious Living
Building 3, 1st floor

Ms. Davidson said she arrived for work at approximately 8:00 a.m. She said she entered through the back of the store via the loading dock and did not notice anything unusual.

She said that, although the store does not open until 9:00 a.m., she came in early to finish up some cleaning. Ms. Davidson said she was in the back of the store for most of the morning and was not aware of anything until she heard the sirens around 8:30 a.m.

Rob Holbrooke
Attorney, Smithfield & Jacobson
Building 2, 2nd floor

Mr. Holbrooke said his office overlooks the area where the body was found. He said he was at work for a short time the previous day, Sunday, February 28, but he did not notice anything unusual. He said he finished typing some briefs and left work about midnight.

Donnie Lee
Graphic designer, Blaze Art and Media
Building 2, 2nd floor

Mr. Lee said he did see the victim's body the morning it was discovered. He said he was on an important call with a client around 8:10 a.m. when he looked out the window and saw someone lying on the ground in the atrium.

At first alarmed, he then thought the body was a joke. He claimed his co-worker Gretchen Doyle had told him that many artists and actors around town consider Oxford Centre a prime location for performance art and other activities.

Mr. Lee said he thought it was a stunt. However, as his phone call went on, he became more and more unsure that it was a prank. Before he could act on his concerns, his co-worker Rita Ashbury discovered the body and alerted the police.

Shawna Musgrove
Sales associate, Luxurious Living
Building 3, 1st floor

Mrs. Musgrove said she was running late for work and arrived at Luxurious Living a little after 9:00 a.m. and had difficulty getting into the store due to the police presence. She was told what had happened but had no details of her own to offer.
