REPORTING OFFICER'S NARRATIVE (Brief narrative of the facts surrounding the offense and the arrest.)

At 8:30 a.m., Reporting Investigators (R/Is) Detectives T. Armstrong and S. Murphy arrived at the arrestee's residence. Environmental conditions at the scene upon arrival are as follows: Weather: Cloudy; Ambient Exterior Temperature: 73º F / 23º C; Relative Exterior Humidity: 90%.

R/Is knocked on the door and Nelson answered. R/Is placed Nathaniel Harrison Nelson under arrest. Nelson was handcuffed and advised of his rights.

Nelson asked why he was being arrested and requested to call his father. R/Is informed him that he could make a phone call at the station after he had been booked. Nelson stated he wasn't going to say anything without a lawyer. Nelson was then escorted by R/Is to their department vehicle.

Transportation to the Sheriff's Department proceeded without incident. At 8:53 a.m., R/Is turned Nelson over to Sheriff's Department personnel for processing.

At all times while in custody, Nelson appeared lucid and coherent. Although uncommunicative, Nelson was cooperative and seemed to comprehend what was happening to him.

DEFENDANT'S VERSION/REMARKS (What did the defendant say about the offense or his/her whereabouts at the time of offense?)

Nelson remained silent during transportation to the station and during processing. Nelson refused to answer any questions until an attorney was present. However, Nelson did cooperate physically and did not resist in any way.
