Case Description: John Doe homicide investigation

The following items were taken into evidence from the vandalism scene on the Allison farm, 114 yards north of the intersection of CR 323 and Taylor Creek.

  • 001316-01 through 001316-02: Two (2) rum bottles, empty
  • 001316-03: One (1) chicken carcass
  • 001316-04: One (1) ball of wax, measuring 4.5 inches in diameter, with paper protruding from the ball with the words "Laurie Daniels" handwritten on the visible portion of the paper
  • 001316-05: One (1) wooden crate, approximately 70% burned
  • 001316-06 through 001316-10: Five (5) ash samples collected from campfire residue
  • 001316-11 through 001316-23: Thirteen (13) blood samples collected from the trunk of the tree on the east side of the clearing, 5.3 feet from Taylor Creek
  • 001316-24 through 001316-28: Five (5) tree bark samples collected from the trunk of the tree on the east side of the clearing, 5.3 feet from Taylor Creek
  • 001316-29 through 001316-43: Fifteen (15) soil samples
  • 001316-44 through 001316-45: Two (2) left shoe prints, measuring 8-1/2 inches
  • 001316-46: One (1) right shoe print, measuring 8-1/2 inches
  • 001316-47 through 001316-50: Four (4) left shoe prints, measuring 8-1/8 inches
  • 001316-51 through 001316-56: Six (6) right shoe prints, measuring 8-1/8 inches
  • 001316-57 through 001316-59: Three (3) left shoe prints, measuring 11-1/4 inches
  • 001316-60 through 001316-62: Three (3) right shoe prints, measuring 11-1/4 inches
  • 001316-63: One (1) left shoe print, measuring 10-9/16 inches
  • 001316-64: One (1) right shoe print, measuring 10-9/16 inches

From the first time I read about this "ball of wax" I couldn't help but wonder if it was used for some sort of game of "chance" like Russian Roulette, but only in this game they used a wax ball or balls, with the partipicants names in a wax...

Maybe there were more balls but they only left behind the ball with the name of the person who died.?? That's been my line of thought from the very beginning.

I'm thinking that either the head belongs to Laurie Daniels or someone has been killed in her place and her name in the ball of black wax is some kind of hex on her, wherever she is.

That's a good theory Scarlett.
Because, why would they leave the ball of wax behind with the name sticking out.???
After-all, they could have thrown the ball onto the fire to destroy the evidence.
