Young woman with blonde-brown hair

Lacey Mitchell interview #2

Wednesday, October 25, 2023 – 2:40 p.m.

Lacey Mitchell is a Northwest Mississippi Community College student and a resident of the 24/7 livestream show "Under Glass: The Study of Generation Z in the Real."

Detective Beckwith and Magee talked to her again at the Under Glass house.

Participants:

  • Detective P. Beckwith
  • Detective J. Magee
  • Lacey Mitchell

Lacey Mitchell: Any chance we can talk later? I've got to get to class.

Detective Magee: This shouldn't take long. Please state your name and address for the record.

Lacey Mitchell: Lacey Mitchell, I'm still here at Under Glass, 903 Muirfield Drive, Oxford.

Detective Magee: Who's running it now?

Lacey Mitchell: Kenny's trying to keep it going. Hoyt had it pretty well idiot-proof, so we'll see.

Detective Beckwith: Do you know any of the former residents?

Lacey Mitchell: Yeah. Of the original residents, I lived with Violet, Augie, and Nash. They all left on good terms. We all were on good terms with Hoyt, except for Shiloh and Wyatt. I mean, I realize you'll want to talk to the others. I'm just saying.

Detective Beckwith: What are you saying?

Lacey Mitchell: Shiloh had it out for Hoyt. Wyatt is collateral damage. I don't have any proof that they murdered Hoyt, but they totally took advantage of him and threatened him when he evicted them.

Detective Magee: Have you seen either of them back here at the house?

Lacey Mitchell: Nope. And you'd know if I did because I'd call it in. Nobody wants them here, so they'd be trespassing.

Detective Magee: Why did Violet leave, do you know?

Lacey Mitchell: She started feeling guilty, I think. Some people can't handle the religious pressure, I guess you could say. She was pretty bothered by those COP members. The thought of eternal hellfire scared her, I think.

Detective Beckwith: What about Augie?

Lacey Mitchell: Augie didn't like the attention from the COP members either. They were pretty rough on the first group of residents. It got some press, and with the exposure in the house, too, it all got to be too much for Augie.

Detective Magee: And Nash?

Lacey Mitchell: I think Nash … I'm not sure. I didn't know him very well. I think maybe he got what he could out of it and moved on? With a girlfriend. He got serious with someone, I think. And then Grant lived here for a hot minute but left. He also was screwing around with Shiloh.

Detective Beckwith: Did Hoyt know?

Lacey Mitchell: Hoyt knew everything. I have no confirmation that Hoyt knew, but Shiloh was not very stealthy trying to have sex with all of these guys on the side and scheming all of these side hustles.

Detective Magee: What side hustles?

Lacey Mitchell: The sex videos she's filming with Wyatt.

Detective Beckwith: Was that going on in the house?

Lacey Mitchell: Well, yes and no. As I told you last time, she and Wyatt were having sex on the premises. There are cameras all over the place, so they didn't need to film it themselves, but also, they didn't get the money for it. So they were sneaking off to have sex so Hoyt wouldn't make money for it either.

Detective Beckwith: None of the previous residents had an issue with Hoyt that you know of?

Lacey Mitchell: Correct.

Detective Beckwith: You said some of the former residents had trouble with the protesters. Has that been an issue for you, too?

Lacey Mitchell: They try, but I can handle them.

Detective Beckwith: What about any of the other current housemates?

Lacey Mitchell: Probably the same as— wait. What aren't you telling me?

Detective Beckwith: We're just asking questions.

Lacey Mitchell: Yeah, right.

Detective Magee: Thank you for your time, Lacey. I know you need to get going. We'll be in touch if we have any further questions.

Lacey Mitchell: Oh, yeah. Well, if you decide you want to talk to me about what's really going on, I'll be here. Unless Kenny really screws up.
