The Balcony video

YOKNAPATAWPHA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

Investigating Officer(s): Det. T. Armstrong, Det. S. Murphy
Incident No.: 001985-19D-2020
Case Description: Dalton Kimbrough homicide investigation

This video clip was found on the RAID 5 data storage array (Evidence # 001985-28) collected from Dalton Kimbrough's office/editing room at the film crew's lodge.

It is a short film called "The Balcony," which was mentioned in Dalton Kimbrough's film journal.

Journal excerpt dated December 2018: "Balcony was a good experiment in short film (building up to the big one), but it didn't turn out quite how I hoped. It's too jerky and fragmented. I'm still at the mercy of this blasted computer. Here is art at the mercy of the medium. Does technology kill art, or is technology the only art?"

Man: What time did you get in last night? I was here at about 9:30, and I don't think you were here.

Woman #1: Um, I must've been— I went downstairs to read.

Man: Downstairs to read? That's funny because I sat, you know, in the bar down there, which is right outside the lobby where I had a clear view—

Woman #1: I was by the pool.

Man: The pool? I don't know if it was the liquor in me or the liquor in you, but something, you know, didn't make sense last night.

Woman #1: It wasn't the f****** liquor. It was you.

Man: You're always blamin' it on me like that time last—

Woman #1: Now, should I leave and either—? Should I go downstairs?

Woman #2: No. Come on.

Woman #1: Are you sure?

Woman #2: It's fine.

Man: Yes. I don't know what to tell you, but maybe it'd just be better, you know, if I just left.
