Canvass – Foyle neighbors

On Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12, 2018, the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department conducted a canvass in the area of Weldon Foyle's residence, looking for potential witnesses to Mr. Foyle's activities on the night of October 6, 2018, or the early morning of October 7, 2018.

Investigators also showed neighbors a photograph of Kristi Waterson to find out if they had seen her at or around Mr. Foyle's residence.

The interviews summarized are some of the most typical or relevant to the investigation and are representative of all interviews conducted.

Campbell

James Campbell
Age: 24
Profession: Mechanic
Address: 603 North 14th Street

Mr. Campbell said he did not specifically remember seeing Weldon Foyle or not seeing him on the night of October 6 or early morning hours of October 7, 2018.

When shown a photo of Kristi Waterson, Campbell said he had seen her in Foyle's driveway, but he had never seen her enter Foyle's residence.

Campbell recalled that he had seen Ms. Waterson on three occasions, all at night, and each time she appeared to be walking toward Foyle's residence.

Davis

Cecilia Davis
Age: 30
Profession: Call center operator
Address: 602 North 14th Street

Ms. Davis said she did not recall seeing Weldon Foyle on October 6 or 7, 2018.

When shown a photo of Kristi Waterson, Davis said she had not seen Waterson in the vicinity of Foyle's residence.

Jacobsen

Rosemary Jacobsen
Age: 76
Profession: Retired
Address: 608 North 14th Street

Ms. Jacobsen said she thought she heard Weldon Foyle's vehicle leaving his residence around 6:00 p.m. on October 6, 2018, but said she didn't look out her window so she couldn't be positive it was him and not another neighbor or visitor.

When Jacobsen was shown a photo of Kristi Waterson, she said she had not seen her in the vicinity of Foyle's residence, but noted that because of her deteriorating eyesight, Waterson could have been in the neighborhood and Jacobsen still wouldn't be able to recognize her.

Jaye

Anna Jaye
Age: 20
Profession: Ole Miss student/waitress
Address: 609 North 14th Street

Ms. Jaye said she worked a double shift at the restaurant on October 6, 2018, so she wasn't home to see anyone arrive or leave.

When shown a photo of Kristi Waterson, Jaye said she had seen Waterson in the vicinity of Weldon Foyle's residence a couple of times.

Jaye noted that Waterson was well-known on campus, so Jaye was not surprised to see her going into a male's house.

Jaye said she recalled seeing Waterson enter Foyle's residence once around the start of the fall semester and again around the end of September, but she could not provide specific dates. Jaye said she saw Waterson enter the residence on those occasions but did not see her leave either time.
