Park Ranger Arrested for Drug Distribution

A Wall Doxey Park Ranger has been arrested for growing an illegal substance and selling it. Roy Cook confessed to Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Officers Detectives Ted Armstrong and Samantha Murphy on March 12, 2011 that he had been growing marijuana in a "patch" of ground at the park.

The Sheriff's Department has an ongoing investigation into the murder of former D.A. Spenser Brooks. During Cook's interrogation he made a full confession of dealing in drugs and is being held without bond pending arraignment.

A caller to the Eagle, who wanted to remain anonymous, reported that an ex-con had told the Oxford police about Roy Cook's dealing in marijuana.
