Detectives Armstrong and Murphy wanted to find out if Ron was hiding anything else

Wednesday, December 5, 2018 – 11:30 a.m.

Ron Baldwin was at the party when Blake Jenson died but left the scene before YCSD officers arrived.

Detectives Armstrong and Murphy re-interviewed him at the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department.

Participants:

  • Detective T. Armstrong
  • Detective S. Murphy
  • Ron Baldwin

Ron Baldwin: Well, I'm here. Whaddya want now? Still tryin' to frame me for Jenson's death?

Detective Armstrong: Be careful. You don't want to start out on the wrong foot. Give us your name and address first.

Ron Baldwin: Again? Don't you guys keep records? Oh yeah, I guess you do, don't you? That way you can always blame stuff on anyone you have in your files.

Detective Armstrong: Name and address, or we can sit here all day doing this.

Ron Baldwin: Waste of my time, but I still live in the same place. I live with my parents on 1417 North Lamar, in this little burg. Oh, I forgot. I have to say Oxford. Got it?

Detective Armstrong: You can make this interview easy or you can make it hard. Believe me, it isn't us that will come out for the worse.

Ron Baldwin: Just tell me what you want.

Detective Armstrong: Have you remembered anything that you didn’t tell us the last time?

Ron Baldwin: Like what? The weather?

Detective Armstrong: Your uncooperative attitude makes you look guilty, you know? What are you hiding?

Ron Baldwin: Okay. Okay. I ain't hidin' nuthin’.

Detective Armstrong: Fantastic. Anything you’d like to share?

Ron Baldwin: Yeah. Sure. That girl they called Ginny looked bad.

Detective Murphy: Bad how?

Ron Baldwin: Like she was about to do the toilet tango. Know what I'm sayin’?

Detective Murphy: No. What are you saying?

Ron Baldwin: She looked sick.

Detective Murphy: Why didn’t you mention this before?

Ron Baldwin: It didn’t seem weird at the time. It was a party. She looked like she was gonna puke. I thought maybe she was wasted. Why, do you think she was poisoned there? I heard she died.

Detective Murphy: What was she doing before she got sick?

Ron Baldwin: I wasn’t into her, so I don’t really know. I was watching Blake’s smokin’ hot girlfriend, and Ginny was mad-doggin' her like she could kill her. Then Ginny got sick. Know what I’m sayin'? But Ginny shoulda been mad-doggin’ that other girl if ya ask me.

Detective Murphy: What other girl?

Ron Baldwin: I don't know her name. The one Blake was singin' to.

Detective Murphy: Why should Ginny care?

Ron Baldwin: Cuz Ginny got zero attention from Blake, who hit on every other female he ever laid eyes on.

Detective Armstrong: Were you jealous of Blake Jenson?

Ron Baldwin: Yeah, right. I got no problems with the ladies, bruh. Blake only thought he had them all wrapped around his finger. Know what I'm sayin'?

Detective Armstrong: Is that the real reason why you went to that party? To cut out the competition?

Ron Baldwin: Sorry to disappoint, but I’m clean. You got nuthin' on me.

Detective Armstrong: Did anyone else at the party act strange?

Ron Baldwin: It was a group of dorks. Everyone acted strange, dawg.

Detective Murphy: Care to answer the question?

Ron Baldwin: I didn't know anyone but Kent, so how would I know if anyone was actin’ schizo?

Detective Armstrong: Did Kent and Blake get along?

Ron Baldwin: How do I know? I can't read no minds. Look. Is this going to take much longer?

Detective Murphy: Why? Have you got some place to be?

Ron Baldwin: Some community service, maybe.

Detective Murphy: What kind of community service?

Ron Baldwin: Blake’s girlfriend might need some comfort in this time of tragedy.

Detective Murphy: You don’t seem to realize the gravity of this situation.

Ron Baldwin: What more you want from me? I told you everything I know.

Detective Armstrong: Fine. Get out of here. We may be calling on you again, so stay close.

Ron Baldwin: Yeah, whatever.

Interview ended – 11:53 a.m.
