The Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting death of Oxford Eagle managing editor Monica Drum, who was found dead in her office at the newspaper.
Security guard Ernie Parrish heard gunshots around 3:00 a.m. and called 911.

Yoknapatawpha Emergency Services received a 911 call reporting gunshots at the newspaper office downtown.
The victim was identified as the editor of the Oxford Eagle newspaper.
A little later, the detectives met the publisher back at the newspaper office to talk about Monica.
