Greg Giblini did not wear a watch or rings; Will Giblini wore a watch. No repairs reported locally.

The victim's body had been stabbed in the abdomen, but showed no scratches, bruises, or other signs of struggle.

Response: Greg Giblini was left-handed. What leads you to believe the victim was stabbed by a left-handed person?

The victim's diary describes some details of Giblini's relationships, but is thought to be selective. As far as we know, Giblini's only serious relationship was with the victim.

just an observation here! from the tear that opened the condom packet and the direction of the blood splats on the fridge, it would appear that valerie's attacker was right handed.....maybe you could rule out any left handed potential suspects!!!!!

When greg said, in the on-line chat, "I killed Scarface, I admit it." Did he confirm it was William he was refering to? The use of "Scarface" seems to have a drug overtone. Could William have been involved with trafficing of somekind? Also, Miami is a key location for drug smugglers and connections to other parts of the country... What are your thoughts on this????

Response: William Giblini ran a profitable Electronics firm. There is nothing to indicate his involvement in drug trade.

There are some reports of William Giblini's drug use from his college years, but no recent use. Also, no traces of marijuana or cocaine were found in his blood.

I have not read all the details of this case, but something
you might consider is the age difference between the female
victim and her boyfriend. Quite often people get jealous of
relationships involving large differences in age, and take
their frustrations out on one or both of the parties
involved in the relationship. In this case, you might
consider as suspects, jealous m/f who were closer in age
to the female victim than her boyfriend was.

Response: No biological or post-mortem evidence of intercourse.

I thought that after a person was dead (as in this case)-- that blood splattering would be minimal for any wounds inflicted post-mortem. Why then is there so much blood splattering on the fridge in Valerie's death?

Response: The spattering was an intentional act. This preparation and posing fits the profile of a psychopath.

Response: No.

Val was shot first, mutilated second. Were this not the order, the mess wouldn't have been limited to the refrigerator and floor. Would you lie still while someone impaled your abdomen and pubic area with a sharp instrument?

One question remains unanswered by anything I've seen lately. Did the person who shot V in the back of the head mutilate her abdomen? What kind of person would mutilate a dead body? The hypotheses that seem most plausible to me lead to the Knights, or, given recent investigation results, at least to anti-abortion activists. The thoughts here keep getting side tracked because this question remains unanswered.

Response: The first theory on the mutilations still holds. That could only be the work of a psychpath. This instability theory is reinforced by the purposeful posing of the body.

The following is an exerpt from Dr. Joanne Graham's psychological profile of the killer.
"A male between 18 and 35 years old. Probably educated. Either works with computers or has them as a hobby.
Probably known as a loner. Grew up around dominating women. Driven by fantasies. Has always fantasized about killing in this manner. Though he is a loner, he appears social and likeable to others. He has a dark side to his personality.
Possibly known as a compulsive liar. Feels no empathy for others and feels no remorse...Will probably kill again, as he acts on impulse."

I think Val knows who is the killer. I say this because of an
entry in her diary. The date of it is 3/17 number 2 diary.
Val says " I sceamed--I thought he was I don't know and
I was so scared I thought I would die."

Response: It's possible.

Everyone seems interested in how the blood was splattered on the fridge. Here is a theory it can vary a little so use it how you think. Greg (or another killer) shot her did the bathing to clean her up and dressed her. Dragged her to the kitchen. On the fridge seen his brother picture (not his) went nuts grabbed a knife and started stabbing her stomach then threw her against the fridge causing blood to splatter and go all over William picture and the fridge.


Or maybe the order is mixed up. Maybe he killed her in the kitchen then shot her in the bedroom then bathed her then dragged her back in the kitchen.

I think Joel was having an affair with Valerie. This led the boyfriend to kill her out of perhaps jealously. Joey is either a complete asshole (as his interview suggests), or their relationship was far more involved than friendship. Even if this is the case, Joel know heaps more than he is letting on, perhaps this is the reason behind his second interview?

Response: Thanks for your support. In his second interview, Joel Shenton was able to furnish an alibi for the night of the murder, which we verified.

I would like to know if Tom tall what he was doing the time of the murders. Have you taken the finger print and matched it with the pepole that know all of the victims?
I think that it is Tom who killed all of them. I think this becuase of three things. One is the person had to be very strong to move the bind of Val. Two is the three dead bodies must have known their killers to allow them into ther homes. Three is the 911 call saying that the guys are fighting again.

Response: Tom Ash was on a training session with the National Guard at the time of the first murder, and is not considered a suspect.

How do you know the unidentified male on the refrigerator is
30 years old if he's unidentified? If you reasonably believe
the contents of the letter could give some clue as to the cause
of the murder or perhaps link a subject to the crime the letter
can be opened. Maybe the person who wrote the letter committed
the crime. A person on a jet can travel faster than international

Response: The man in the photo on the refrigerator was eventually identified as William Giblini.

We've recently submitted a second request to the Postmaster General for permission to open the sealed letter. We'll let you know if we receive clearance.

This is a very strange case!
Several things have been on my mind since first reading about it.
In the letter Greg wrote to his mother, he quoted a song/poem....."Don't squeal on the pusher." Has there been any connections between Greg and the intercepted shipment of "purple" marijuana?
Also the Picture of Val on the Web Site Doesn't really show the front of her. Are her clothes completely unbuttoned/zipped?Why would some one go to the trouble of washing the body and putting clothes on it only to leave them unbuttoned/zipped.
Do the bra and panty set match?They don't really seem to match the outfit that Val is wearing.This might say something about the killer...If s/he knows what Val wears or at least knows how to match an outfit...Women and some men care about these types of things.
The Blood splattered on the refrigerator bothers me a great deal because it does not look like it would be consistent with the types of wounds inflicted on the victim.They looked like the only blood splatters around. Wouldn't there have been more splatters on the stove and on the kitchen floor, maybe even the ceiling?
Another thing that you shouldn't care too much about is the missing condom. Whoever used it probably just flushed it down the toilet after using it. I have done this many times and never had a problem.

- So far, there has been no evidence linking Giblini with drug commerce.
- The victim was wearing pajamas at the time of the murder. The top was buttoned. The pants were pulled down slightly. The victim was not wearing a bra.
- We suspect that the perpetrator intentionally splashed the blood onto the refrigerator. The victim's heart had stopped beating by the time she was stabbed, so blood would not have spurted as high as the ceiling.

Have you contacted the FBI on this matter? I read a good book called Mindhunter about murderers and an ex-FBI man that started the whole behavior sience division there.

Response: There's nothing on the floor. the victim's hair is tangled all over the place; perhaps this is the source of your confusion. To which photo are you referring?

How was the condom linked back to her boyfriend? What was the time of death and how much time elapsed until the neighbors found the body? Was there semen in the condom? Was the semen warm, cold, dried? What was the victims occupation?

Response: - The condoms were traced to Greg Giblini via their serial numbers and video footage from the store in which they were purchased.
- According to the coroner's report, time of death was approximately 6 a.m. The Oxford Police Department received a call about the incident at 10:30 a.m.
- No used condoms were found on the scene.
- The victim was a graduate student at the University of Mississippi.

I noticed the switch on the kitchen wall. The victim was turning this switch on and off every day and nothing was happening. The letter is from a lady in Switzerland telling her to stop it!

DID THIS WOMAN FREQUENT LOCAL BARS AND POSSIBLY TRY TO PICK UP GUYS AND BRING THEM BACK TO HER APPARTMENT?

Response: Witnesses we interviewed reported no such activities; nor does the the victim's diary mention any such incidents.

Was the Victim a cigarette smoker and was there evidence of cigarette butts at the scene of the crime and was there a DNA scan on the cigarette butt for traces of blood-type and did it match the victim or intruder(s) in this case?

The evidence at hand shows it was her boyfriend, who could have had an accomplice.

Was there a Warrant for the search of Val's boyfriends home/residence for the Diskettes from the computer and for the murder weapon and was there a 'Paraffin' test done on the clothes of the boyfriend and the friend that was on the answering machine?

What about jealousy, Joey has an affair with girl , girls boyfriend becomes aware , delivers suprise shot to back of head during sex.(a very hateful and impersonal position, found in many rapes) He then cleans away all evidence and is still so enraged by the betrayal that he mutilates the remains in the area of betrayal. His brother knowing him so well discovers his crime and becomes the boyfriends second victim. Explains all the close friends strange behavior, (because they know of the affair & who killed her and why) especially Joeys.
Was the victim getting some form of psychiatic therapy, (why prozac?). Maybe a fellow patient with a mental illness killed her.

Response: Your theory is plausible, although the victim's diary seems to indicate that she was not having an affair. The diary also explains how the victim acquired the Prozac. She was not affiliated with any local mental institution.

I read the Vilson crime scene report and I noticed that there was some Weed that looked purple? Well if I am correct there was something like that in california awhile back called purple haired Sense.

The Red haired man could have been Greg in a wig.

Response: Yes. They were on the floor of the victim's closet.

Joey seemed to have "rehearsed" his interview with Anderson. His anticipation of the questions and the wording of his answers suggests he's covering something.
He should have been more cooperative, since he did have feelings for Valerie.
Was Joey able to account for his whereabouts just before the murdered?

Response: Joel was not appraised beforehand of the questions he would be asked. In a second interview, yet to be released to the public, he produced an alibi which has been verified.

Response: None found. Surprisingly little traces of Giblini were present at the scene.

I asked a question regarding the time of the power drain on the morning of Valeries murder. You said that this was between 3 and 6:30am.

If it was as early as 3am and the body was dragged to the kitchen and stabbed at 7am that indicates the possibility that the killer was in the residence for up to four hours. This seems to be a well thought out and executed murder. Wipe out the hard drive, kill her with a shot to the back of the head. Bath the body thereby removing and evidence from the body and then drag her to the kitchen and stab her to make it look like a crime of passion thereby heading the resulting investigation off on a tangent.

It seems very calculated to me and because of that the erasing of the hard drive and the recovered content of that hard drive seems like your key to who the killer is. As far as anyone is aware that was the only item in the residence that was damaged and nothing else was found to be missing.

I have two further questions:-
Can you give a more specific time as to when this power drain occured?because if it was as early as three or four am then the killer was doing something else between this time and 6am when Valerie was murdered?

Was Valerie asleep when she was shot? I think I have seen the answer to this in the site somewhere but I don't recall the answer.

We can determine only that the victim was lying on the bed with her head on the pillow. Her state of consciousness when the fatal bullet was delivered will never be known.

Response: I assume you refer to the victim, Valerie Vilson. The coroner's report noted trace amounts of alcohol and marijuana.

We believe that the cat bit the third party because of its aggressive nature and the unidentified blood found on the cat's mouth. Do you agree?

Response: The blood found on the cat has been positively identified as belonging to Will Giblini.

The evidence says that there were condoms found near her bed along w/ marijuana and liquor. my question to you, is that if the body was indeed placed in the tub and washed free from any physical evidence, why wasn't semen taken from her vagina? Is the fact that the man wore a condom an issue for not testing for semen simply b/c a condom is supposed to catch the ejaculation?

Response: The body was washed thoroughly in the tub before it was mutilated and placed in the kitchen, so any traces of semen were removed before the body was discovered. Tests were performed as part of the autopsy but no semen was detected.

Why are the 2 faxes from Val to Purity Knight have 1996 dates on them? Error? Fakes?

Response: It was an error, forgive us. We typed in the text of the faxes by hand and inadvertantly used the current year.

The correct date for fax 1 is March 12, 1995. The correct date for fax 2 is March 30, 1995.

Back again to ask another question. I know that follow-up interview(s) have been conducted regarding Joey. Has it been determined what kind of weapon was used to mutilate Vals body on the floor of her kitchen? I find it curious that Joey was involved with fencing, and I would assume, has access to some pretty deadly bladed weapons.

Has Lisa Wood show up anywhere lately? In her follow up interview it sounded like she was afraid of somebody since she would rather face perjury charges than testify about what she saw the night Valerie was killed.
Have you found anything on the Rosebud investigation? Has Jennifer found any of the letters from Valerie to William?
Have you checked out the other brother, Tom? Anything going on between Jennifer & Tom since all of William's life insurance was left to both of them.

Response: The victim was murdered at apprximately 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, 1995.

Seems to me that the amount of face trauma to William would indicate his killer knew him.
Also seems improbable that those blood stains on the 'fridge were the result of someone stabbing a body on the floor. (little too high don't 'ch think). Maybe put there to lead you off a realistic trail? Like the (what I think) are post mort. knife wounds to the womb area?
A shot in the head isn't a crime of passion(normally).
Where did Val get the $$ to go to college, apt., dope, drinks, etc.?
idea- Have you explore the idea that Greg and Val had an S&M relationship? In part of her diary she talks about being restrained and whipped (spanked?) It seems she might have been in "love" with one brother but sexually obsessed with another. In most of what I get Greg played with her mind frequently. Just showing up etc.(maybe breaking into her diary)
Have you ever explored the possibilities that she did S&M type porn? (he did like to make movies) and that purple dope comes from Holland doesn't it?
What did the Att. gen's post mean by William "working for the other side" did he mean criminal or spy (industrial) type?
Who is Vaskin Kissoyan and how is he involved?
I read all the links and couldn't figure out where he came into the picture.

We suspect that the killer splashed blood onto the fridge himself.
The victim was in a postgraduate program on full scholarship. Her adoptive parents supplied her with some money for living expenses, and she also received a small stipend for her work with local schools.
According to our interpretation, the account of whipping in the diary describes Frank Knight's treatment of his daughter, Purity. The victim's relationship with Greg Giblini is described as merely tumultuous, although some details were certainly omitted from the diary account.
We have yet to recover any evidence suggesting that the victim participated in the creation of pornography, although the idea is interesting.
Vaskin Kissoyan was with Greg Giblini when they were pulled over by an Arizona Highway Patrol officer in Kingman County. At the time, his criminal record included two incidents of criminal trespass involving computers on the Internet. He is currently believed to have left the country.

Response: The victim was last seen with a red-haired man, presumably Greg Giblini, at Proud Larry's, a local bar, the night of April 1.

I am curious. If Val is shot and killed in the bedroom, why is there so much blood in the kitchen ? If she was dead, the heart would not be pumping blood through her veins; therefore there should have been very little or no blood at all, once the killer started carving her up in the kitchen. Is it possible that she was still alive before the art work began?

Response: The blood splatter has been problematic for us. The coroner has suggested that the murderer may have deliberately splashed the blood onto the refrigerator. Are you suggesting the victim was maimed in the kitchen before being brought to the bedroom and shot?

mind. They found it odd that Valerie was shot, then in
the bathtub, then the kitchen and stabbed with her clothes
back on. Is it possible that the killer took the bath before leaving the apartment? They would have had to clean
up somewhere in order not to draw attention to themselves.

Response: It's possible that the killer took a shower, although no hair or skin specimens were retrieved from the drain.

Who is your number one suspect?

Response: That information is classified. We have reason to believe that persons involved with the investigation have visited this site. Naming suspects would give them time to flee.

Why was Val washed up? Where was Brianna? G?

Response: The murderer bathed the victim before mutilating the body -- possibly to remove physical evidence such as blood, hair, or semen; or possibly as part of a ritual symbolic act.

The exact whereabouts of both Brianna and Greg Giblini at the time of the murder are unknown.

What was the state and license plate number......make and model of the vehicle they were last seen in Arizona?

Response: Giblini and Kissoyan were in a 1987 silver Nissan pickup truck with Tennessee plates numbered TGA 160.

Was there a toothpick found in the deceased apartment?

Response: A box of toothpicks was found in the kitchen cupboard, next to the napkins.

The reason why I wondered if the floor plan of Valerie's apartment would be posted is because I am interested in seeing how far her body would have had to be moved from the bedroom to the bathroom and finally to the kitchen.

Moving dead weight would require some muscle - both William and Greg weren't big husky guys (Greg was 5'8" weighed 160, William 5'11" weighed 175).

I think that seeing the distance between the locations that the body was moved would be helpful.

About what time was she murderded?
What time was rehearsal?

Response: The victim was murdered at approximately 6 a.m.
The rehearsal mentioned in the phone message took place at 7:30 p.m. the evening before.

I suspect that the the killer of Greg and William could be Purity's parents (father).
I have changed my mind about the whole thing. William came over to see Val. Saw his bro in with Val. Got mad. Killed her and Greg got away. William was desperate and distraught. He stabbed at her post-mortem and left. Purity's dad and mom came over. Saw the body, justice I guess. They washed her body to remove any evidence that they may have been there, or washed away their guilt for giving up the birth child. They found out who was involved with their "daughter" and subsequently laid out God's eye for an eye revenge. Don't think that the fact that they were brothers was significant. It was just coincidence.

The brothers were in the apartment at the same time during Val's murder. (verified by DNA), DNA samples of the two other people at Val's showed startling similarities.
Prozac, interesting... Val was a manic? Probably. She was also drinking and stoned. Possible that she was having an affair with both brothers. William was already at the apartment, saw them together. There was a fight. Val was killed. Greg got away. William had to do something with the body. He washed the evidence away, maybe evidence that would indicate that he and Val were having relations. As for the post-mortem wounds... desparation trying to hide evidence. What ever became of Tom Ash?

Ash is in Oxford working for the University, helping out with the investigation in any way he can. He initially suggested putting the evidence online, and currently assists with updates.

I posted some observations and questions in October which were not responded to. I gather the comments were either not worthy of response or I went on for so long (there were 9 points that I had typed out) that no response was required or you got sick of reading them :-)).

However, there was one question that I posted that I would like an answer to if you get time.

That is - What time was the power drain on the morning of Valerie's murder?

Response: I'm sure your comments were worthy of response -- we just got behind.

We haven't yet been able to recover the computer log which would indicate the exact time of the power surge. However, we estimate that the surge took place some time between 3 and 6:30 a.m.

I think that Joel Shenton did the crime, because he was in love with her. And maybe he did't know that the other 2 guys were brothers.

I think I met the Knight family because I do remember a beautiful child named Purity and I remember thinking that true people of God would grace their child with that blessed name. We were talking to the Rev and the Knights were very

Response: I assume you refer to Greg Giblini, who was found dead in his northern California apartment in March of this year.

Am I correct in detecting that Valerie was killed early morning 2 April and discovered later that same morning yet the last fax sent to her from Purity was about 24 hours after her death. Did the Police not notify her birth parents and sister of her death the same day she was killed?

Response: You are correct. Because few people knew about the existence of the victim's birth parents, it was several days before they were contacted. Her adoptive parents were notified immediately.

In the 2nd fax to Purity (dated March 30th) she asks if Purity has recieved "the package yet". Do you have any information if Purity recieved it and what the package contained?

Response: We are in the process of investigating this lead. No package has been found yet.

Were the Condoms used?

Response: None of the condoms found at the site were used. One was missing.

I KNOW THAT BOTH OF THE WEAPONS (guns) USED TO KILL VALERIE AND GREG WERE OF THE SAME CALIBER.
BUT, HAS ANYBOBY OBSERVED THE MARKINGS ON EACH OF THE BULLETS TO IDENTIFY IF THEY CAME FROM THE SAME GUN?

Response: Recently-released ballistics test results show that different guns were used in the Giblini and Vilson murders.

I think that William found out about Valerie leaving with
Greg; she was tried of waiting for a married man. William
and Valerie had communication of this somehow and William
then took action of leaving his wife. Then, making it look
like he was upset over the recent separation with his wife
he went on the extented vacation. The William went to
Valerie's apartment killing her. Explains why his blood was
on the cat and matched. Then William disappeared thinking
no one would link him being at the scene due to hard drive
destroyed, and he was suppose to be away on vacation due
to separation of his marriage. (Comment: This would
explain why there was no contact with his family after he
left because he wasn't where he was suppose to be.) In
the interview with Greg Giblini Greg stated that his
brother, William, did it but no one believed him. So, he
disappeared to find his brother. Found him in that motel
in Floria. They had a fight and Greg killed William.
This explains why Greg's blood was found at the motel
crime scene.
Now the question of, who killed Greg Goblin? I feel that
the fight with his bother would be the answer. William
might have told Greg something that Greg didn't know and
Greg confronted that person and they killed Greg?
There is one thing for sure, there has been no mention in
any evidence of 'forced entry' into any of the victims
crime scenes; so this could only mean they were expecting
them or they knew them well.

Response: Your observations are astute. The hypothesis you suggest is plausible, although we don't currently have definite proof. We hope to find more clues in connection with the Giblini family and Rosebud in California.

Who does the blood found on the cat belong to?

Response: Recently-released DNA evidence indicates that the blood is William Giblini's.

Will you be posting the floor plan of Valerie's apartment?

Response: We've been preoccupied with the investigation in Arkansas for some time. However, we can look into obtaining the plan. What do you hope to learn from it?

Has Jennifer Giblini found the letters from Valerie to William yet?

Response: We've begun investigating the family connection in California and should post some leads soon. The letters in question have not yet been produced.

This is what I think happened the night Valerie was killed:

1) Greg was over they got stoned and went to the bar (where they were seen by Jennifer and Lisa).
2) Greg and Val go back to the apartment and have sex (hence, the empty condom package).
3) Greg leaves - Val sleeps.
4) Frank Knight arrives - kills Val because he wants to "save" the sinner.
5) Frank then starts to freak because he has killed her. He then gives Val a bath - bathing the body can be looked at in two ways:
- as a baptism to purify Val's soul
- or as a very "loving" thing to do (in many cultures family members bath the body in preparation of burial).
6) Frank then really freaks out and get very angry at Valerie because of what she has made him do - it is at this point he begins to mutilate her body - concentrating on her womb.
7) Frank leaves.
8) William shows up - finds Val dead - thinks that Greg did it.
9) William freaks because he and Greg and Val have been doing some sort of scam over the internet - he is the one who trashes the computer to get rid of any evidence of the scam that they were pulling.
10) While working on the computer - Val's cat attacks him (which would account for his blood being on the cat).

Response: Your observations on bathing as part of burial rituals are interesting, thank you. However, the investigation in Mountain Home has furnished evidence proving that Frank Knight was not involved with the murders. We'll post the details once we've received clearance.

Why, if the woman was raped, would there be blood on the cat?

Response: There is no evidence that the victim was raped. There were no signs of sexual trauma, and biological evidence such as skin, hair, and semen would have been removed when the murderer bathed the victim's body post-mortem.

Who was the guy on the answering machine?

Response: The victim's answering machine contained a message from Joel Shenton, a fellow student. He has been brought in for questioning once so far.

If we give a lot of weight to the psychological profile, then it seems that Greg fits this profile more than any other suspect. Were there any post mortem mutilations on Greg? Have any faithful followers (fanatics) been questioned? Would obtaining blood samples from any of these people be possible? Sonya

Response: Greg Giblini's body was not mutilated. We've questioned a number of people associated with Frank and Judith Knight in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and have determined that they were not involved in the Vilson murder. We hope to post information soon.

In her fax to Purity, Valerie writes "I know all about shame and secrets and wanting to die." Any idea on what this is referring to?

Response: We don't know what specifically she's referring to. However, the victim's diary reveals a number of secrets. We're still investigating those leads.

Is there any evidence that Greg and/or William were involved with internet scams?

Response: None so far. We're currently investigating the Rosebud connection and hope to supply details soon.
