Matthew Ray Dixon, 31, was the sixth child of Barney and Shirley Dixon. His parents were an easygoing, loving couple who clearly believed in the philosophy "the more, the merrier" because, altogether, they had 10 children.
Matthew graduated from high school, but there wasn't enough money for college, so he took a job at an appliance manufacturer in Jackson, Mississippi. He had been working there for five years when the company shut down the plant, and he was laid off. Unable to find work, he was forced to move back in with his parents in Oxford.
Matt dated extensively throughout his late teens and early 20s. When he turned 28, he decided it was time to settle down, so he married his girlfriend at the time, Janice Wilkins.
It turned out neither one of them was prepared for a monogamous relationship, and Matt didn't like having to support a wife. They divorced after one year.
Matt moved back in with his parents and has never remarried. He enjoys the lifestyle of a Casanova, albeit on a limited income, as he has only been able to find odd jobs around Oxford.
Today, he works part-time as a clerk at Santa's Toy Shoppe and part-time as a barkeep at the Blind Pig Pub.
