Case Description: Wenzel Hitzig homicide

Computer technicians have analyzed the contents of Wenzel Hitzig's portable Dell computer. The following is a preliminary summary of files and programs found. It is not a detailed listing of each individual file found.

• \Photos -- contains folder \2002 with the following sub folders containing various amounts of .jpg files:

Technical Conclusion:

When the computer was found at scene of crime, Windows Explorer was running. A number of files and/or folders appear to have been deleted. Accessing Microsoft Word and trying to see the recently used file list shows the following titles, none of which can now be located on the computer hard drive.

• C:\My Documents\Tinag\Paul_info
• C:\My Documents\Tinag\Gasman
• C:\My Documents\Personal\Oxfordplans
• C:\My Documents\Personal\Q&A

Further analysis shows that the Recycle Bin is also empty. The properties for the Recycle Bin are set to the following:

Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted check box is checked.

However, temporary internet files and history still exist on the computer and a further report will be compiled on the contents of both.
