Biography: Arlene Melton, female victim

Arlene Martha Melton was born on May 3, 1978 to Moira and Daniel Melton in Macon, Georgia. Arlene was the only girl of three children and both her parents doted on her. Even her brothers, Matt and Donovan, adored her and protected her against any and all perceived enemies. Some people in their old neighborhood used to say that Arlene's feet never touched the ground until she was fifteen.

It was when Arlene was fifteen that she discovered boys and they discovered her. She always had a special intuition that her beauty was her biggest blessing and, while God may have left her short of talents and graces in other ways, she found that beauty trumped everything else anyway. Arlene discovered that a certain arch of an eyebrow or twinkle of an eye could yield pretty much anything she wanted.

It broke Moira's heart when Arlene left school to become an exotic dancer, though her mother didn't mind the gifts that Arlene's tips could buy. Arlene started out working at clubs in Macon, and once she'd honed her skills, she decided to move to Atlanta where she could earn more money. When her father suffered a stroke in 1999, Arlene paid most of the bills for the rest home he moved into. Despite the excellent care and attention her father received, he died in 2000 and Arlene hasn't been home to Macon since.

Arlene once worked at The Blue Peacock in Atlanta. She also became involved with Wenzel Hitzig and the late Achim Michaelis on an exciting new computer game, TINAG. In 2001 she accompanied Achim and Wenzel to Oxford, Mississippi, to take part in some photographs for the game. When Achim was found murdered, her relationship with both men led police to theorize that she may have been involved in Achim's death somehow, but ultimately she was cleared of any involvement.

Despite the trauma of her time in Oxford, Arlene made several gentleman friends while there, and on the news of her mother's death in July 2001, she gave up full time exotic dancing and returned to Oxford to see if she could build a new life there. Initially, she hooked up again with JP Wallace, who'd she met in April 2001, but since March 2002 she has been living with Kevin Travers, a photographer, and working as a waitress at the Two Stick café in Oxford. She still maintains a relationship with Wenzel Hitzig, and hopes one day that the TINAG game will be produced and released, and she can look forward to making enough money to provide her with the financial security and respect she craves.
