It does look of African descent. If so, what does that lead you to believe?

Just curious. Could it be possible that this skull is a lot older, dating before 1865, when slaves were kept? Are we actually dealing with the remains of a killed girl dating back to the colonial period and not some recent death?

On the autopsy summary report it states that the skull is that of a "female caucasoid", ruling out the possibility of african descent or slaves from the colonial period obviously..... Although it is odd that the age behind this skull is similar...

Although it is odd that the age behind this skull is similar to that of Mrs. Brandt's daughter when she died. The report also goes on to state of potential blunt force truama as a possibility of death due to skull fractures.. In my opinion & given the lifestyle and personal traits of both RJ's parents (primarily his mother)- one may be brought to assume it could of been more of a "convenience" for them especially with the cover of chaos from Katrina.

So we will have to find out why there seems to be a discrepancy.

I find the fact and reasons behind her belief that in the olden days kids died more a bit off throwing, could it be a foreshadowing attempt to back up SIDS as a cause of death? Even tho there has been thorough study on SIDS, and next to no backing evidence on detectable causes of death... Therefor possibly making it easier for SIDS as a scapegoat had any bruising gone unoticed. Again lacking evidence and only being an assumption, no dominant case could be made still.

We just also have to bear in mind that what we are looking at, is the face of a toddler. In that age, all kids practically look rather alike - and not yet completely defined. I bet if the face was painted in a different teint, different eye colour and maybe even some hairs put on, we'd think of it differently.

There is no mistake about the reconstruction of the skull. This is and Afro American child.

You can be sure that the skull is that of a young infant: 18 months to about 2 years.
