  • 000171-02: One (1) expended cartridge (shell casing) .25 cal.
  • 000171-03: One (1) apparently damaged bullet, .25 cal.
  • 000171-04: One (1) set of kitchen knives and hardwood storage block
  • 000171-05: One (1) set of keys, containing five keys
  • 000171-06: One (1) checkbook containing checks from the BancorpSouth
  • 000171-07: One (1) walking cane
  • 000171-08: One (1) leather satchel-style briefcase
    Contents:
    • 000171-08-01: One (1) date and address book, leather
    • 000171-08-02: One (1) silver flask, empty
    • 000171-08-03: Three (3) copies of housing development blueprints
    • 000171-08-04: One (1) cellular telephone
    • 000171-08-05: One (1) letter from Javier Montoya, attorney
    • 000171-08-06: One (1) letter from Gerald Archer, vice president BancorpSouth
    • 000171-08-07: One (1) partial copy of Visa credit card receipt, Ole Miss Motel, Oxford, MS.
    • 000171-08-08: One (1) copy of Visa credit card receipt, Bennington Jewelers, Memphis, TN.
  • 000171-09: One (1) folding knife, mother of pearl handle
  • 000171-10: One (1) American Express bill
  • 000171-11: One (1) chef's knife, wood handle with reddish stains on blade

I'd check the gun to see if it was fired. The damaged bullet could also be a clue. Same with the knife. Was he stabbed or shot?

Was the chefs knife with the stains on it part of the victims knife block? or did the killer bring it to the scene?

Was the gun fired, and if so by who? Who is the gun registered to?

What does the letters in his breifcase say? and the reciept...

I agree with the previous comments. The evidence that stands out the most are the gun, bullets, stained chef's knife, Hotel receipt, & jeweler's receipt. The gun & knife could of course be the murder weapons. The hotel receipt is strange,...

I agree with the previous comments. The evidence that stands out the most are the gun, bullets, stained chef's knife, Hotel receipt, & jeweler's receipt. The gun & knife could of course be the murder weapons. The hotel receipt is strange, which part is missing? Is it the signature? His son is a student at Ole Miss University, so it could be connected to him. Same with the jeweler's receipt; as someone else said, I don't see him buying jewelry for himself. It could have been for his wife, or maybe a mistress. I have a feeling those receipts are a link to some form of motive. Perhaps they point to infidelity, either him with another woman; or( what I think may be the case) the son and his stepmother. And of course you'd want to check the cellphone for calls etc. & the letter from the attorney, maybe he was shop talking divorce.
