Phillip Shaw is the eldest of two children born to Jane and Chad Shaw; Phillip was born on January 7, 1971 in Taylor, Mississippi. He was seven when his little brother Jerry was born.
Phillip spent most of his time watching over his brother. But as the boys got older, Phil began to see that Jerry was going to be a problem no matter how much he worked with him and loved him. He tried to teach Jerry the importance of honesty and integrity, but it was a lost cause.
Phillip excelled in everything he did. He made top grades and made a lot of friends. But he began to dislike his brother and didn't have much to do with him even though it hurt to see the kind of person Jerry was becoming, Phillip's love grew cold and he became ashamed of his entire family.
When he graduated from high school, he wanted to go to college but there wasn't enough money so he got a job as a stock boy at Taylor Grocery Store and Restaurant. He began putting every penny he could spare in the bank. He was determined to go to college.
One evening when his parents were sitting on the porch, they were shot and killed in a drive-by shooting. The police never made an arrest, and Phillip and his brother had to make it on their own until they were informed by their family attorney that their parents had a large insurance policy made out to the boys, plus they had left a sizable savings account.
Phillip moved to Oxford, Mississippi and enrolled in the University. Not long afterwards, his brother Jerry followed him.
When Phillip graduated, he still had a large bank account. He had invested some of the insurance money and proceeded to build his own tax firm. It became a very successful business.
Phillip avoided Jerry. The only time he saw him was when Jerry tried to get money from him after squandering his own inheritance. Phillip told Jerry to get a job.
Phillip has never married and lives alone.
