EXTERNAL EXAMINATION - SUMMARY

The remains are presented in three body bags.

Bag #1 (Inc # 004053-21H-2022) contains a left thumb, recovered at the Rebel Inn on August 21, 2022.

Bag #2 (Inc # 004141-25H-2022) contains a black trash bag, measuring 32.75 inches x 45 inches, recovered at Lamar Park on August 25, 2022. Inside the bag are adult male right and left legs, right and left feet, and right and left arms without hands, each wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine.

Bag #3 (Inc # 004229-29H-2022) contains a black trash bag, measuring 32.75 inches x 45 inches, recovered at Lamar Park on August 29, 2022. Inside the bag is an adult male torso wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine.

The body is that of a normally developed, well-nourished white male. Preservation is fair, and the body parts are bloated and discolored with slight skin slippage. Multiple dot-like lesions are visible on the chest, back, and legs. When the paper is removed, the legs are covered with remnants of blue jeans, and the torso is covered with remnants of a gray and white, collared, short-sleeved shirt.

INTERNAL EXAMINATION - SUMMARY

HEAD--CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM: The head is not present.

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM: The musculoskeletal system is unremarkable and within normal limits other than the injuries described below.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM: The head is not present. The lungs are unremarkable and weigh: right, 287 grams; left 268 grams.

CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM: The heart weighs 310 grams, and has a normal size and configuration. Cardiac valves and coronary ostia are anatomic and unremarkable. Moderate signs of atherosclerosis are observed. No evidence of gross ischemic changes of recent or remote origin is present.

GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM: The head is not present. The stomach is empty. The appendix is present.

HEPATOBILIARY SYSTEM: The liver weighs 679 grams. The gallbladder contains liquid bile, no stones and is grossly normal. The extrahepatic biliary system is unremarkable. The pancreas shows the usual lobular architecture, mild autolysis, and is otherwise normal.

URINARY SYSTEM: The kidneys weigh: left, 94 grams; right, 95 grams. The kidneys are anatomic in size, shape, and location. The pelvic calyceal system and ureters are unremarkable. The urinary bladder contains no measurable urine.

MALE GENITAL SYSTEM: The testicles, the penis, and the prostate gland are anatomic to dissection.

DESCRIPTION OF INJURIES - SUMMARY

(1) Decapitation at the level of #C-5.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(2) Amputation of the left arm below the glenohumeral joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(3) Disarticulation of the left hand at the radiocarpal joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(4) Amputation of the right arm below the glenohumeral joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(5) Disarticulation of the right hand at the radiocarpal joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(6) Amputation of the left leg below the acetabulofemoral joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(7) Disarticulation of the left foot at the talocrural joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(8) Amputation of the right leg below the acetabulofemoral joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(9) Disarticulation of the right foot at the talocrural joint.

Opinion: This is a postmortem injury.

(10) Multiple pairs of reddish dot-like lesions on the chest, back, and thighs, with histological changes consistent with electric current-related changes.

Opinion: These are antemortem injuries.

OPINION

Time of Death: Postmortem changes approximate the time of death between August 16, 2022, and August 23, 2022.

Immediate Cause of Death: Undetermined

Manner of Death: Undetermined

Comments: Preliminary DNA comparisons between a sample from the left thumb, positively identified as that of Oscar Knight, and samples from the other body parts indicate all of the body parts are from the same individual.
