Biography: Virginia Brooks, wife of victim Spenser Brooks
Virginia was born on November 10, 1962 to Roger and Janine Dillon in Tupelo, Ms. She has one sister, Amy, who is one year older.
Roger Brooks was the manager of the Firestone and Rubber Company and is now retired and still resides in Tupelo with his wife Janine.
Virginia’s parents were active in the Republican Party in Tupelo. When Virginia and Amy were old enough they begged to go with their parents and were allowed to go. They became active as teen agers alongside Roger and Janine.
After Virginia graduated high school she applied to the University of Mississippi and was accepted. While there she met Spenser Brooks and after dating a few months they knew they were in love and were married in June, 1990. They both loved the city of Oxford and decided to settle there after graduation.
Spenser was elected as District Attorney of Oxford in 2007 after being the Assistant District Attorney for over 6 years.
Virginia is on the Republican Primary Board in Oxford and worked on voter registration and has been precinct captain. She is very active behind the scenes of the Theatre Oxford and is a Pink Lady volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Virginia has one son, Wesley, born in 1992.
