Just wondering how long does it take take to close a case with no leads or no solid evidence

I just closed a case and I believe it was open for more than a year I am not sure though you would have to check yourself on the most recent case which is the Charles Tatum Case and we just closed it yesterday. are you new is this why you are asking?
