The following excerpt is taken from journals belonging to Zoe Chase, which were found in Chase's residence and turned over to the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department by Chase's parents, Howard and Marion Neidelmen.

That woman! What's her problem? Trying to sabotage me! Pushing me... damn, damn, damn! What to do? What to do? What to do?

She's gonna being sorry. I'm gonna do something and she'll be SORRY!
