Evidence: Letter from MegaMaxiNet Solutions | |
In response to an inquiry from the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department, MegaMaxiNet Solutions send the following letter describing their business relationship with Peter Austin Pane.
Dear Detective Murphy: I am writing in response to your inquiry about our relationship with Peter Pane. I am able to provide some basic pieces of information. However, if you need any further details, please direct your questions to our attorney, James Hettler. Mr. Hettler's address and phone number are enclosed with this letter. In short, we purchased a piece of encryption software from Peter Pane. After several weeks of negotiation, we signed a contract on April 28, 2000. MegaMaxiNet Solutions invested $1,000,000.00 in Mr. Pane's company to cover the remaining development and testing costs, as well as other expenses. In exchange, we received 25% ownership of his company and 51% of the intellectual property rights to the encryption software, including patents, base code, implementation tools, design packages, royalties and licensing fees. I'm afraid those are all the details I can provide at this time as the software has not yet been released and the patent is still pending. Mr. Pane approached us with a desire to sell the software that he developed and we believed a collaboration between our two companies would be beneficial to both parties. Please feel free to contact our attorney if you need more detailed information. Sincerely,
