Death of Victor Jennings Ruled a Homicide
By Kelly Shackleton
Staff Writer
Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff’s Department Information Officer Elizabeth Jones announced yesterday that the October 28th death of Victor Jennings has been ruled a homicide by the county coroner Luwinda Johnson. Initial indications at the scene left open the possibility of suicide.
Elizabeth Jones said that evidence collected from the crime scene led to the ruling and declined to comment any further due to the ongoing investigation.
At the time of his murder, Victor Jennings was on house arrest awaiting trial for extortion. Jennings was accused of blackmailing Hollywood’s power couple Michael Hawke and wife Samantha.
Jennings attorney, Thomas Jefferson Eldon III, commented that he was, "certain that his client would have been found innocent and that perhaps the detectives should look into those that might benefit from Jennings death."
