The witness, who is a college student, was interview by Detectives Armstrong and Murphy of the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department. The interview was conducted at the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department Headquarters and was recorded on a portable tape recorder with the witness knowledge and consent.

Det. Samantha Murphy
Det. Ted Armstrong
Terri Smith

Det Murphy: Good morning Miss Smith. Thank you for agreeing to meet with us. First off we need your name and address for our records. As you know our conversation will be tape recorded.

Terri Smith: It's ok detective but I'm not sure why I'm here. My name is Terri Smith I live on campus at 211 Sorority row

Det Murphy: We're investigating the death of Victor Jennings. Miss Smith did you know Victor Jennings in any capacity?

Terri Smith: Yes, I had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting him. I did a fashion show for the college drama club and Samantha Hawke and her husband Michael was the celebrity guest host. She arranged for my roommate Kristin Colby and me to meet with him. We're both seniors and we're hoping to continue in modeling. Samantha told us he might be able to help us because he has a lot of connections in the business.

Det Armstrong: Miss Smith isn't it true that both you and your roommate attended a private party at Victor Jennings house?

Terri Smith: Yes it's true. We shouldn't have gone there. He was a filthy, disgusting pig. I'm glad he's dead.

Det Armstrong: Miss Smith you sound like you didn't like Victor. Did he do something to cause you to feel this way? We've heard rumors that he was getting college girls drunk and taking advantage of them. Did this happen to you?

Terri Smith: Of course not! (Witness starts to cry). He was a dirty sleaze ball. He lied and got Kristin and I to come to his party. He said he could introduce us to some important people. We soon found out that all he wanted was to get us drunk and have sex. (Witness starts to sob uncontrollably).

Det Murphy: Calm down Terri here's some tissue. Can we get you some water? Terri did you sleep with Victor that night and now you regret it?

Terri Smith: (Witness still crying) I didn't want to he made me. He raped me!

Terri Smith: Thank you. I'm ok I just want to get this over with. Like an idiot I had to many drinks, he told me he wanted to show me his portfolio of some of his clients I stupidly followed him to a bedroom and he forced me to have sex with him. After it was over he told me to get dressed. He said Carl had filmed us and if I said anything to anyone he would show the video to my family. I looked for my roommate Kristin but she had left. All I wanted to do was get out of that house.

Det Armstrong: Did you tell anyone else about the attack?

Terri Smith: I told my roommate Kristin. Kristin said she was brutally attacked by Victor but she fought him off.

Det Armstrong: Miss Smith did you have anything to do with Victor Jennings death?

Terri Smith: No! I thought his death was an accident. How could you accuse me of his death? I'm the victim here not him.

Det Armstrong: We still have to investigate his death as though it wasn't an accident. We have to prove his death was an accident not homicide.

Terri Smith: I didn't kill him. I'm sorry he's dead, he was a terrible person. I'll have to live with the rest of my life what he did to me. (Witness sobs into her hands)

Det Murphy: Terri, we're very sorry for what this man put you through. If you need to talk please feel free to phone any time. I'll give you my card. We advise that you seek professional help, also talking to your parents. They love you and I'm sure they will be there for you. Thank you for coming to talk to us. You're free to go now.

Terri Smith: Thank you Detectives. I may take your advice. I need to be with my parents now. I don't think I can hide this from them anymore.

Interview ends at 10:30am
