REPORTING OFFICER'S NARRATIVE (Brief narrative of the facts surrounding the offense and the arrest.) ,
On 10-28-2007, the body of Victor Jennings was discovered in his home. He had been stabbed to death. After a thorough investigation, the victim’s brother confessed to the murder during an interview.
Raymond Jennings was arrested at the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff’s Department, after he confessed to the crime. Arrestee was handcuffed and advised of his rights.
DEFENDANT'S VERSION/REMARKS (What did the defendant say about the offense or his/her whereabouts at the time of offense?)
During the interview with the arresting officers, arrestee confessed to the murder of Victor Jennings. The arrestee said he had learned about the affair between his wife and the victim and he went to the victim’s home to warn him away from his (arrestee) wife. Arrestee stated that the victim said insulting remarks about his (arrestee) wife and that he (arrestee) lost his temper and killed the victim in a blind rage.
