Foot and Shoe Printing Set

Use the inkless print kit to collect shoe or foot prints without staining the footwear or foot. The kit provides sharp, black impressions of the footwear or friction ridges.

Each Inkless Foot/Shoe Print Kit comes with a chemical coater and 100 chemically-sensitized sheets. To make a footwear impression, press the shoe or foot on the coater, making certain the sole is completely covered with the colorless chemical. Then, step on the sensitized sheet. Each sheet is large enough for the average shoe (6 �"" x 12""). Impressions appear immediately, looking as if they were done with black ink. Shipping weight 5 lbs

Mikrosil Casting Putty

Mikrosil� has been formulated to give excellent rendering of small details, highest contrast for microscopic observations, good releasing ability for the cast and short setting-time. These properties are important in cases of shallow marks and marks with small details requiring large magnification. Choose either brown, white or black Mikrosil using the menu below the product phto.

Brown Mikrosil� is a dark-brown color which many toolmark examiners prefer. The dark color increases the visibility of detail in the casts made from toolmarks, firing pin marks, breech face marks and other marks on cartridge casings. Gray Mikrosil� is preferred by other toolmark examiners who photograph the contrast between the light-colored surface and shadows produced from side-lighting. As described below, squeeze an equal length from each tube onto the mixing pad and stir them together with the wooden spatula. Press against the toolmark and wait for a few minutes. The hardened cast will easily release itself from the surface.

White or Black Mikrosil� can be used to lift dusted latent fingerprints from rough or textured surfaces where regular lift tape will fail. Using the method shown on the following page, press the mixed putty onto the latent print. Wait a minute or two to allow the putty to harden, then pull the card with the putty attached away from the surface. Properly label the lifted latent print. Remember, the image of the latent print is reversed, left to right. Use White Mikrosil� with black powders and use Black Mikrosil� with silver or fluorescent powders.

Using Mikrosil� to Lift Latent Prints
Use White Mikrosil� to lift latent prints developed with black powder on an irregular surface. After dusting and developing latent prints, prepare the White Mikrosil�. Apply it to the surface and allow it to dry. Gently peel it off. Remember that the latent prints will be reversed left to right (mirror image).

Use Black Mikrosil� when dusting with silver or white powders, or when dusting with fluorescent powders. The black background does not fluoresce when examined with a Forensic Light Source or ultraviolet lamp so the latent print will be bright against a black background.

Toolmarks and Marks from Firearms
In addition to casting toolmarks, Brown Mikrosil� can be used to cast firing pin, ejector/extractor marks and breech face marks.

�AccuTrans is a highly-sensitive, DNA-friendly casting material for toolmarks, firearms and lifting latent prints from difficult surfaces. The casting material comes in dual-stage tubes, which include both casting material and a special catalyst. Load a tube into the Forensic Sil gun, squeeze the trigger and casting material and catalyst are mixed on demand through a special mixing tip. No mixing is required and you only use as much casting material as needed. Leave the applicator tip on the tube once finished. Forensic Sil won�t dry in the tube. When you are ready to make another cast, simply replace the used tip with a fresh one.

Use Bio-Foam to make footwear impressions without messy ink. This foam material produces a three-dimensional replica instead of the two-dimensional ink and paper method. The Bio-Foam kit comes in a cardboard container suitable for storage and will protect the impression. Ideal for quickly recording impressions of the right and left shoe and storing them in a convenient format.

Available individually or as two attached blocks for left and right impressions. The kits cannot be reused. Choose from either option using the pull-down menu.

Tire and Footprint Casting Frames

These are adjustable aluminum frames used to contain the flow of dental stone when making casts of footwear or tire impressions at the scene. Unique overlap clips allow eight inches or more of expansion. Each frame includes two "U" shaped bars, with two connector slides. Simply remove the connector slides when done, and the unit is a small, easily transportable item. Each frame can be used several times.

Crime-Cast is a complete plaster casting mixture in a bag. This convenient, easy-to-use pouch contains everything necessary including water to make a plaster cast of an average-size shoe print. A small water bladder is enclosed in each Crime-Cast pouch. There�s no need to carry around water, mixing bowls and measuring cups. Simply break the internal water �bladder,� mix in the bag and pour. When dry, Crime-Cast creates a hard, white casting.
