Our Hand Bagging Kits are used to "bag" the hand of a decedent when suicide is suspected. The bagging of the hands prevents the loss of GSR from hands while the body is being transported to the medical examiner's office.

The kit consists of 50 white paper bags and 50 wide rubber bands. The bags and rubber bands are packaged in a pre-sealed bag to prevent trace metal contamination prior to use.

Metal Arson Cans

�These cans are unlined to prevent any contamination of evidence collected at the scene and to allow for head space analysis at the lab. Metal cans are the preferred containers for gathering arson evidence and liquid accelerant samples, as accelerants may deteriorate other types of storage, such as plastic bags. The pint and quart cans come in a pack of 4 and the gallon cans come in a pack of 2.

Extra-Large Evidence Seals

These extra-large evidence seals are ideal for sealing large evidence bags and boxes, doors, windows or any over-sized evidence where a quick evidence seal is needed. The seal is scored down the middle for easy folding and has a split backing, so there is less chance of the label adhering to itself during application. Simply fold the seal over the evidence, remove one half of the backing and apply, then remove the backing for the second half and apply. Each seal is preprinted with areas for case number, date and initials. Each label measures 4" x 12" and comes in a pack of 10 or 100.

Small pieces of metal, glass or other sharp objects may tear through paper or plastic bags and injure someone. Bullets stored in plastic may oxidize, destroying firearm striations. Boxes protect them from these hazards. The included cotton keeps the item from moving. Each box is 21⁄2" x 13⁄4" x 1". The boxes are 1-inch high and can be sealed with our evidence seals or tapes.

Long Nose Filter Nozzles

Long nose filter nozzles are ideal for hard-to-reach areas. The collection area of each hermetically-sealed nozzle is closed with tamper indicating tape. When ready for use, simply open the bag, use the filter nozzle with either vacuum system on this page and submit the entire unit for inspection using the evidence bag included with each nozzle.

Trace Evidence Folds

Used for the collection of trace evidence, these Trace Evidence Folds don�t have any corners or creases where minute evidence could escape. Simply place trace evidence into the middle section of the fold and seal, using standard evidence tape. The fold is pre-printed with basic documentation, such as the case number and item number. Once the fold is received at the lab for further processing, they simply cut open the seal and the Trace Evidence Fold opens into a flat sheet of paper with the collected evidence held securely in the center. Trace Evidence Folds come pre-folded and ready for use at the crime scene. Each pack includes 25 individual folds.

Evidence Tags

Large and awkward evidence can be difficult to tag properly. Evidence Tags allow you to quickly and easily tag items for storage. Each tag has a flat tab at the end that can be written on directly, or an adhesive evidence label may be applied to it. They are self-locking and cannot be removed without damage to the tag. Tags are constructed of UV-resistant plastic. Available in 6" and 18" each tag has a panel where identification information can be written directly, or can be used to attach an identification or chain-of-custody label.

Nylon Arson Evidence Bags

Nylon has long been the preferred material for collection and storage of evidence which may contain solvents found in accelerants. Unlike "plastic" bags, solvents will not break down the nylon material of our Nylon Arson Evidence Bags, preventing the loss of flammables and hydrocarbons.

These bags can be closed in the field using cable ties or permanently sealed back in the laboratory using a heat sealer.

The clear material allows the evidence to be seen without opening the bag and can be easily marked using standard marking pens. For long term "stack-able" storage, our bags can be placed in metal evidence containers or cardboard boxes.
