Letter from Jamie Washington to Will Shepton. Postmarked May 13, 2002
May 11, 2002
Dear Prof. Shepton,
I apologize for my absence the past couple of classes. I wanted to let you know that I won't attend the rest of the semester -- I've had to return to Jackson due to a family emergency. Although I was looking forward to completing my classes and getting my degree, it looks like I'll have to graduate some other time.
I wanted to send you my final paper, which I finished early before learning I'd have to leave. I'm hoping that despite missing the final this paper and the work I've done already will be enough to earn an "incomplete" rather than an "F". That would help my chances of being allowed to come back and re-do the semester.
I'm sorry for this situation. Thanks for all your help.
Jamie Washington
