Detective Samantha Murphy of the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department, and James Barton, lessee.

 

I received the attached search warrant June 17, 2013 and have executed it as follows:

On June 20, 2013 at 8:00 a.m., I searched the person or premises described in the warrant and left a copy of the warrant with James Barton.

 

INVENTORY OF PERSON OR PROPERTY TAKEN PURSUANT TO THE WARRANT

  • 001028-60: One (1) pair men's black work boots with dark stains, found in entryway

  • 001028-61: One (1) cell phone stun gun, found in truck glove compartment

  • 001028-62: One (1) carpenter's hatchet found in truck bed, field tested positive for human blood

  • 001028-63: One (1) 3-inch wide x 7-inch long tire track found on truck bed, field tested positive for human blood

  • 001693-64 through 65: Two (2) samples of blood collected from tire track found in truck bed, field tested positive for human blood

  • 001693-66 through 67: Two (2) samples of blood smear collected from 12-count box Tyvek coveralls found in vehicle, field tested positive for human blood

  • 001693-68 One (1) full set of fingerprint exemplars for James Barton

  • 001693-69 through 70: Two (2) hair samples from James Barton

To Detective Samantha Murphy and any Authorized Officer of Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi.

Affidavit(s) having been made before me by Detective Samantha Murphy

who has reason to believe that on the premises known as

1710 Anderson Road, Oxford, MS which is a one-bedroom apartment, shown by public record as leased to and occupied by James Barton; a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck, blue, (VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) registered to James Barton;

in Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi, there is now concealed a person or property, namely

Articles of clothing, footwear or other items with possible bloodstains; 42-gallon trash bags made of 3-mil heavy duty black plastic measuring 32.75 inches x 45.125 inches; natural sisal twine; brown Kraft paper; white cotton/polyester bath towels measuring 24 inches x 50 inches; white cotton/polyester hand towels measuring 16 inches x 27 inches; white cotton/polyester wash cloths measuring 12 inches x 12 inches; an electroshock weapon; a human head severed at #C-5; one human right hand severed at the radiocarpal joint; one human left hand severed at the radiocarpal joint, missing thumb;

and as I am satisfied that there is probable cause to believe that the person or property so described is now concealed on the person or premises above described and that grounds for application for issuance of the search warrant exist as stated in the supporting affidavit(s).

YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED to search on or before June 27, 2013 (not to exceed 10 days) the person or property specified, serving this warrant and making the search in the daytime (6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). If the person or property be found there seize same, leaving a copy of this warrant and receipt for the person or property taken and prepare a written inventory of the person or property seized and promptly return this warrant to US Judge or Magistrate,
