Interview with Dana Pomeroy

This interview was conducted on February 13, 1992, at the Yoknapatawpha County Detention Center. Present were subject Pomeroy and Detective Terrence Nelson

Q=Det. T. Nelson
A=Dana Pomeroy

Q: Miss Pomeroy, could you describe what you saw when you reached the offices of Cupid's Couples two days ago?

A: Usually when I get to work there's music going and Trudi calls my name out--and there was neither, and it made me kind of nervous. So, I decided to look around.

Q: What did you see when you entered her inner office?

A: I immediately saw that she was slumped over on her desk. And, so I called out her name, because I thought maybe she was taking a nap. And she didn't answer, so I walked over to her and shook her, and she didn't move.

Q: You checked for a pulse or a heartbeat, right?

A: Yes, I did. Just like they used to do on that show "St. Elsewhere," or those cop shows. She didn't have a pulse or a heartbeat, so I called the 911 number right away.

Q: Did you work the day before the day that you found Mrs. Rose?

A: Yes, I did.

Q: Did Mrs. Rose received any strange packages or phone calls?

A: Not that I know of. She was out of the office most of the afternoon while I was there that day. She'd pop in and then she'd run back out. I didn't get to talk to her that much.

Q: Was she acting unusual in any way?

A: Not at all. She's always pretty much the same.

Q: Where was Mrs. Clinton, your other boss, at this time?

A: She's never in the office, except on the first and the fifteenth. That's when we get paid. She comes in and hands out the checks and says hi and then leaves again.

Q: OK, Miss Pomeroy, thank you for coming in to answer these questions. We'll be in touch if we need anything else.

A: You're welcome.
