Evidence: Statement by Paula Macmillan, Bobby Joe Rose's secretary
YOKNAPATAWPHA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

Investigating Officer(s): Det. S. Murphy, Det. T. Armstrong
Case No: 001524-03D-2000
Case Description: Trudi Rose Death Investigation

Paula Macmillan is Bobby Joe Rose's secretary at Milton, Milton & Rose. Ms. Macmillan declined the detectives' request for an interview, but did provide the following statement.

On April 3, 2000, my employer, Robert Joseph Rose, was already in the office when I arrived at approximately 8:50 a.m. I had placed a call to Mr. Rose's cellular telephone earlier that same morning, at approximately 8:30 a.m. or a little earlier, to let him know I was running late because I had overslept. He had expected me in the office by 8:30 a.m. to assist him in his preparation for an upcoming case. During that call, we discussed my estimated arrival time, the tasks we hoped to accomplish that morning and whether I could pick anything up for him on my way to work.

Mr. Rose remained in the office all day on April 3, 2000, until approximately 5:00 p.m. At that time, the Sheriff's Department called our office and notified Mr. Rose of his wife's death. They requested that he go to the Coroner's Office to make a positive identification of the body. Mr. Rose left the office shortly after the call ended.

Mr. Rose was out of the office most of the rest of that week, attending to his responsibilities following his wife's death. On the morning of April 4, 2000, I receive a delivery of a beautiful floral arrangement with roses, lilies, orchids, and assorted other flowers and greenery, which Mr. Rose had sent me to express his appreciation for my work.

I have worked with Mr. Rose for nearly five years and I would vouch for his honesty and strength of character in any situation.
