Purity Knight's Killer Arrested
 

Gunfire erupted in the early morning hours in the Oxford town square. Detective David Anderson, wounded in the fight, was rushed to Baptist Memorial hospital while a suspect in the death of Purity Knight was taken into custody.

  • Murder Suspect Arrested Late breaking developments in the Purity Knight case. Gunfire erupts in the early morning hours Friday in the Oxford town square.
  • Inventory of Suspect's Possessions During a preliminary search of the suspect's home the following items were found:
  • Edward Pierce's Journal At the time of his arrest, Pierce's journals were located at his home, in a sealed envelope, addressed to the National Star. It is suggested you print this multi-page document, rather than view online.
  • Note from Edward Pierce to David Anderson Detective David Anderson received the following letter Thursday, Sept. 4, hours before the arrest of Pierce. The note had been hand-delivered and nailed to Anderson's front door.
  • Armstrong Speaks About the Next Case Detective Armstrong wraps up the Knight case and prepares for the next investigation.

  • Officers Affidavit, Lists suspect's occupation and work experience and also the probable cause for the warrant.
  • Application for the Warrant, Once the judge signs this the police have ten days to issue the warrant.
  • Judge's Command, Lists everything that is to be searched and the areas to be search. It also commands the officer(s) to return the belongs, or person(s) back to the court.
  • Search Warrant, A copy of this document is always left with the person or place to be searched.
  • The Return, A list of all things removed during the course of the investigation. It is cataloged as evidence and marked for return.

Macy Lamar Case Headlines

Macy Lamar, 17, was declared missing on September 20, 1997, after she disappeared from an Oxford shopping mall.   The disappearance occurred at the same time as Ed Pierce and Anthony Phelps escaped from jail.   The victim's father, Sheriff Charles Lamar was recently killed in a car accident. A suspect confessed to staging the accident.
