Hank Peterson: Yeah, he came around fairly often.

Detective Murphy: Did he drink any?

Hank Peterson: Chuck? Hell no. Most of the time he came around, he was on duty. I always made it a point of offering him some refreshment, even just a cold co-cola, if he wanted it. But he never did take me up on it.

Detective Charles Tatum, a 21-year veteran with the Department, was found dead in his home of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Subsequent findings during the autopsy made a conclusion of suicide virtually impossible. Detective Tatum's death is now being investigated as a homicide.
