Detective

Marvin
Lewis
Detective
Murphy: Good morning Marvin. Please state your name and address for
the record.
Marvin Lewis: Good morning. My name is Marvin
Lewis, and I live at 532 North Lamar, Oxford.
Detective
Murphy: Marvin, we need to ask you a few more questions about
the day Blake died.
Marvin Lewis: OK Detectives, I'll do
my best to answer your questions.
Detective Murphy: How well
do you know Kane Victory?
Marvin Lewis: I see him on occasion.
He plays bass for Blake's band, but I guess it's not Blake's band
anymore. It makes me so sad to think he's gone forever.
Detective
Armstrong: We're sorry about Blake. Can you tell us anything else
about Kane?
Marvin Lewis: I think Blake and Kane liked
each other, but they didn't get along at times. Kane was always
hitting on Blake's girl, Madison.
Detective Armstrong:
How did Blake react to that?
Marvin Lewis: Of course he didn't
like it. They had a few scraps over it but they seemed to always get
over it. I think it was because Blake knew Madison wouldn't go
out with Kane.
Detective Armstrong: How did Madison handle
this situation?
Marvin Lewis: Sometimes I think she
flirted with Kane and other guys just to make Blake jealous because
he did the same to her. But they cared for each other and I know the
flirting never went anywhere.
Detective Armstrong: Let's talk
about Kent Erdell. In your first interview, you said he and Blake
were best friends. Weren't you jealous?
Marvin Lewis: Of
course not. Blake was my friend, too. I had no reason to be jealous.
Besides, Erdell wasn't that good a friend to Blake.
Detective
Armstrong: Why's that?
Marvin Lewis: Kent was the
one that was jealous, because Blake took the girls away from him.
Blake got the
prettiest girls, and Kent had to take his leftovers.
Detective
Armstrong: You said you went by Blake's house around five the day
Blake died, and talked with Blake and Kent. Why didn't you stay
for the competition?
Marvin Lewis: I didn't feel like
staying. I wanted to see a movie.
Detective Armstrong: This
was a big night for your friend, and you wanted to see a
movie?
Marvin Lewis: I'm not much of a partier, so I didn't
stick around.
Detective Armstrong: That's not the real reason
is it Marvin? Isn't it true that Blake didn't ask you to stay? He
wanted his best friend there, but not you.
Marvin Lewis: I
could have stayed if I wanted to. I should have been Blake's best
friend, not Kent.
Detective Armstrong: Marvin, do you know
anything about electricity?
Marvin Lewis: No, not
really.
Detective Armstrong: High school summers, didn't you
work for your uncle, who's an electrician?
Marvin Lewis: Yeah
I did, I guess I forgot about that. I mostly just handed him
tools.
Detective Armstrong: Marvin, did your jealousy lead to
you killing Blake Jenson?
Marvin Lewis: I didn’t kill
Blake! I loved Blake. He was my only friend. I have to get out of
here. I can't stand this anymore.
Detective Murphy: Calm down,
Marvin. Detective Armstrong will get you a glass of water.
Detective
Armstrong: Here's your water. You can leave when you're ready, but we
really need to talk some more.
Marvin
Lewis: I’ve got nothing else to say to you. I’m out of
here!
