This report provides the preliminary findings of forensic analysis to date of items taken into evidence in the Andrew Fine Homicide investigation. Further forensic reports will be provided as additional analysis results become available.

002182-01: One (1) brown western-style leather men's wallet, with cowboy and bronco embossed on front; recovered from decedent's right rear pants pocket

Wallet contents:

002182-01-01: One (1) Mississippi driver's license issued to Andrew Fine
002182-01-02: One (1) Bank of Mississippi Visa debit card issued to Andrew Fine
002182-01-03: One (1) Blockbuster Video card
002182-01-04: One (1) Blue Cross health insurance card issued to Andrew Fine
002182-01-05 through 002182-01-08: Four (4) Laughlin Automotive & Body Shop business cards
002182-01-09: One (1) Acceptance Insurance auto insurance card issued to Andrew Fine

Fingerprints:

Fingerprints consistent with Andrew Fine were observed and have been excluded.

002182-02: Colt Defender 90 lightweight .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, S/N , capacity 7 + 1 round, 5 rounds remaining; recovered with decedent's body.

Findings:

The weapon (S/N DR21437) is registered to Andrew Fine.
Five (5) rounds were found in the weapon, which holds a total of eight (8) rounds.
The five (5) rounds found in the weapon are consistent in caliber, manufacturer, and type with the three (3) spent casings recovered at the scene (Ev. # 002182-04 through 002182-06).
The five (5) rounds found in the weapon are consistent with .45 ACP Federal 230gr Hydra-Shok JHP ammunition.
The three (3) casings recovered at the scene and the three (3) bullets recovered during autopsy (Ev. # 002182-77 through 002182-79) are ballistic matches to this weapon.
Minuscule pieces of cloth recovered from the slide and trigger mechanisms. Submitted to Trace Evidence for further analysis.

Fingerprints consistent with Andrew Fine were observed and have been excluded.
Unidentified fingerprints were observed on the magazine of the weapon.

002182-03: One (1) 375-ml bottle Jack Daniels bourbon whiskey, 2/3 remaining; recovered with decedent's body.

Findings:

Analysis of liquid contained in bottle found it consistent with bourbon whiskey.

Fingerprints consistent with Andrew Fine were observed and have been excluded.

002182-04 through 002182-06: Three (3) .45 caliber bullet casings; recovered from the soil surrounding decedent's body.

Findings:

The three (3) casings are consistent with the five (5) founds recovered in the weapon found with the body (Ev. # 002182-002).
The three (3) casings are consistent with .45 ACP Federal 230gr Hydra-Shok JHP ammunition.
The three (3) casings are ballistic matches to the weapon found with the body (Ev. # 002182-002).

002182-08: One (1) sofa back cushion, stained

002182-09 through 002182-65: Fifty-seven (57) Bud Light^® beer bottles, empty

Fingerprints:

Fingerprints consistent with Andrew Fine were observed and have been excluded.
Unidentified fingerprints were observed on twenty-one (21) bottles.

002182-66: One (1) 750-ml Jack Daniels bourbon whiskey bottle, empty

Findings:

The four (4) rounds remaining in the box are consistent with the five (5) rounds found in the weapon recovered with the body (Ev. # 002182-02).
The four (4) rounds remaining in the box are consistent with the three (3) casings recovered with the body (Ev. # 002182-04 through 002182-006).
The four (4) rounds remaining in the box are consistent with the three (3) rounds recovered during autopsy (Ev. # 002182-77 through 002182-79).

002182-68: One (1) 10-count box, 12-gauge Remington shotgun shells, #4 shot, 2 shells remaining

002182-73: One (1) battery powered Coleman^TM lantern

Findings:

Soil residue was observed on the base of the lamp. Analysis pending.

Unidentified fingerprints were observed on the base and switch of the lamp.

002182-74: One (1) shovel, stained

Findings:

Soil residue was observed on the blade of the shovel. Analysis pending.
A smear was observed on the handle of the shovel. Substance is consistent with human blood, type B+. DNA analysis pending.

Findings:

The twelve (12) rounds remaining in the box are consistent with the five (5) rounds found in the weapon recovered with the body (Ev. # 002182-02).
The twelve (12) rounds remaining in the box are consistent with the three (3) casings recovered with the body (Ev. # 002182-04 through 002182-06).
The twelve (12) rounds remaining in the box are consistent with the three (3) rounds recovered during autopsy (Ev. # 002182-77 through 002182-79).
