Unidentified Female found in Mannequin Bin

By KELLY SHACKLETON
Staff Reporter

The Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate the discovery of the body of a young woman located at the Oxford Theatre at approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. YCSD Public Information Officer Elizabeth Jones said that when the officers responded to the call, they observed the lifeless body of a young female lying among the mannequins in a bin in the backstage area of the theatre. Jones declined to comment on the cause of death but indicated that it is currently being treated as suspicious.

Jones noted that the woman was in her early to mid-20s and had several tattoos on her body. On her right upper arm is an elaborate tattoo with flowers; on the left hand in the fleshy area between thumb and index finger is a star, and on the nape of the neck the capital letter "A." Sources inside the department say the victim's youth and extremely pale appearance led some at the scene to refer to her as "The Porcelain Mannequin,"

If you have any information about the identity of this young woman or about the circumstances leading to her death, please contact the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff’s Department.
