Miguel Ochoa's girlfriend
In this update, we spoke to Miguel Ochoa's girlfriend Tammy Freeman. When we asked her if she knew why Paul Evans had moved out of Kimberly Pace's house, she told us,
Tammy Freeman: Miguel said Paul heard some rumors about her and some students. Ugly things, rumors. Anyway, he couldn't deal with it, and so he moved out.
We also talked to Laurence Bricker's wife, Margaret, who is... an interesting woman. When we told her witnesses reported that her husband had argued with the victim, she said,
Margaret Bricker: Well, first of all, my husband doesn't argue; he makes ultimatums. He's very controlled, never raises his voice, but tells you in no uncertain terms what he thinks. I doubt that they were arguing.
In addition, we canvassed the Ole Miss faculty and interviewed a local veterinarian who examined Kimberly's dog on the day her body was found and also had treated both of her dogs in the past.
We've also transcribed Kimberly Pace's voice mail, including messages she had saved prior to her death and one she never heard.
Later this week, we'll have an interview with Cody Matthews, who some say was stalking Kimberly Pace, as well as a conversation with Kimberly's physician. Come by on Thursday to see those case documents and more.
Have you checked out Ask the Detective?
Did you know that when you Ask the Detective, you can get information that isn't available anywhere else?
For example, one viewer got help narrowing down the possible murder weapon. Another found out whether Kimberly Pace's class attendance records matched up with what Carter Nichols said about when he was in class. Someone else got feedback on identifying the people seen lurking outside the victim's home. What do you want to know?
We're having so much fun answering your questions that we've decided to extend the open preview until Thursday. Until then, both paid Case Detectives and registered Case Officers can get inside information about the investigation. If you have a question about the evidence or the suspects, now is the time to Ask the Detective.
Your input could help us solve the case
Visitor, the more information we gather, the more we need your help to sort through it and find out who murdered Kimberly Pace. To tell us what you think, post your comments on the individual case documents, or drop by the Crime Scene Community.
• Anonymous Tipsters are always welcome at Crime Scene, and you don't need to pay anything or even sign up to enjoy a case.
