Case Description: Kimberly Pace Homicide

Investigators have put together the following summary of the witnesses' alibis for the window of time when the murder is believed to have been committed (~9:30 p.m. 9/24/11 - ~12:00 a.m. 9/25/11), based on their statements during interviews. Also included is information on the results of attempts to verify the alibis.

Arthur Beck	In his first interview, Beck said he fell asleep watching the news on TV and that he awoke around 1:30 a.m. to go to bed. In his second interview, Beck added that he worked in his backyard garden after dark with a light on before watching TV.	?	Neighbor George Kim saw floodlights on in Beck's yard and heard his tools at about 9:00 p.m.
Laurence Bricker	In his second interview, Bricker said he was home all evening until he went to bed.	?	Mrs. Bricker verified that they did not go out that evening
Paul Evans	In his first interview, Evans said he was at the C'est Belle Gallery until 11:00 p.m. After leaving, he stopped outside K. Pace's house around 11:05 - 11:10 p.m. but did not go in, then went home (Miguel Ochoa's house) to sleep.	?	[1] Gallery owner Lawson corroborated the time Evans left the gallery and added that he had arrived at the gallery around 6:00 p.m. [2] K. Pace neighbor Linda Alden saw a man she believed to be Evans on a motorcycle in front of K. Pace's residence around 11:00 p.m. Alden said she saw the man speed away several minutes later. [3] Miguel Ochoa and Tammy Freeman saw Evans asleep on the couch when they returned home at ~1:00 a.m.
Tammy Freeman	In her interview, Freeman said she worked until about 9:00 p.m., went home and changed, then met Miguel Ochoa at Murff's at about 10:00 p.m. Freeman said she and Ochoa stayed at Murff's approximately two hours, then went for a drive, and then to Ochoa's house, arriving there at about 1:00 a.m.	?	Miguel Ochoa corroborates Freeman's account of their activities that evening. Employees at Murff's confirm that Freeman and Ochoa were there from ~10:00 p.m. until ~12:00 a.m.
Jeremy Gladwell	In his second interview, Gladwell said he was home all evening. He said he ordered pizza from Papa John's at 9:30 p.m., talked to client on phone at 10:30 p.m., and answered e-mail after eating pizza	?	Records from Papa John's confirm an order from Gladwell placed at 9:33 p.m. and delivered at 10:05 p.m. Phone company records show two telephone lines at Gladwell's residence. Call records indicate an incoming call on one of the lines from Grant Technologies, Inc. at 10:41 p.m. and lasting 19 minutes, as well as an outgoing call on the second line to dixie-net.com placed at 1:10 p.m. and lasting 11 hours, 47 minutes.
Lila Lawson	In her interview, Lawson indicated she was at the C'est Belle Gallery from approximately 6:00 p.m. until about 11:00, then she went home to bed.	?	Evans' first interview corroborates Lawson's departure time from the gallery.
Cody Matthews	[1] In his first interview, Matthews said he was outside C'est Belle Gallery around 9:00 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. until he saw K. Pace leave. Then he went back to his dorm, had a pizza and watched a movie. Roommate returned at midnight. [2] In his second interview, Matthews provided the additional detail that he picked up pizza at Pizza Den after 9:30 p.m., then rented a video game from the Redbox at Walgreens.	?	[1] Matthews' roommate Jason Tang verified Matthews was in their room around midnight with the pizza and video game. Pizza Den purchase records show a credit card charge for Matthews at 10:07 p.m. for a pick up order placed at 9:34 p.m. Redbox records show a rental transaction for Matthews at 9:46 p.m.
Carter Nichols	In his first interview, Nichols said he was at a fraternity party all evening	?	In interviews with members of Nichols' fraternity: Frat brother Drevey confirmed Nichols was at the party but not how long or when he left. Frat brother Hambeck confirmed Nichols was still at the party at 10:30 p.m. Frat brother Hale confirmed Nichols was still at the party at 1:30 a.m.
Miguel Ochoa	In his interview, Ochoa said he was at C'est Belle Gallery from around 9:00 p.m. until about 10:00 p.m., when he left to meet his girlfriend, Tammy Freeman, at Murff's. Ochoa said he and Freeman went to his house, arriving at around 1:00 a.m.	?	Tammy Freeman corroborates Miguel Ochoa's account of their activities that evening. Employees at Murff's confirm that Ochoa and Freeman were there from ~10:00 p.m. until ~12:00 a.m.
Becky Pace	In her second interview, B. Pace said she left the C'est Belle Gallery at the same time as K. Pace, around 9:30 p.m. G. Pace said she then bought a bottle of wine from Colonel's Wine & Liquor and went home. She arrived home around 10:00 p.m., and ordered pizza from Domino's Pizza.	?	Gallery owner Lawson said she did not see B. Pace at the gallery after 9:30 p.m. Colonel's Wine & Liquor records show a credit card purchase for B. Pace at 9:53 p.m. Records from Domino's confirm an order from Pace placed at 10:04 p.m. and delivered at 10:41 p.m.
Patrick Richards	In his interview, Richards said he went to work at the Pizza Hut on University at 6:00 p.m. and worked until they closed. He went back to his dorm after work and got there around 2:00 a.m.	Y	Pizza Hut employee time card shows Richards clocked in at 5:59 p.m. and clocked out at 1:20 p.m.
Cheryl Weston	In her second interview, Weston said she was at home, hosting a sleepover for her daughter and ten of her friends	Y	Girls who attended the sleepover confirmed Weston was there.
