I've just read the new bios and interview, it now really seems logical that she did commit suicide, with her history of depression and her losing the attention from her brother that she used to get :(

Has anyone besides me considered the possibility that maybe the reason Joy committed suicide over the letters was because she knew Elvis and that the letters might be written to her by Elvis?

Yes, once again we have another case where almost everyone has a motive. I have not made any decisions at all on who it might be but to me, Peter has the strongest motive since he blames Jared for his sister's death.
Taylor has a very strong motive as well but we haven't heard from him yet.

I definately think some search warrants are in order here, starting with Yvonne and Taylor and Kelly. Somebody has those letters. We also need a followup with Kelly about what was in those letters.

ok, I just read Joy's bio and so I can discount the idea that the letters were written to her.

I wonder if anyone else was seen around Joy's apartment when she died. The fact that she was depressed would help a murderer get away with killing her. That's an interesting concept.

Since Jared seems to have affairs with a lot of women, married or single; what if he was also having an affair with Max Snyder's wife. He's coming up with a lot of reasons for someone else to be the murderer. What would be a better alibi than that Max said it was very important to have Jared Plunk as the keynote speaker. No one would suspect Max. He said in his first interview that he didn't like Jared.

I really do think that Joy committed suicide because of the letters. Her bio said that she had become one of the Elvis Faithful and she couldn't bear the shame of being the one to tarnish his reputation and legend. It is the way cults work. They brainwash you. It is possible that she called Carl Warren in a panic when she found out that Jared was going to publish those letters in a book after he made them public at the convention. Warren might have played on her depression and therefore, in a sense, helped her suicide along. That way she could "apologize to the King" herself. I mean, look what happened at Jonestown. Jones talked a lot of people into suicide. Warren wouldn't be guilty of anything and you can tell he wouldn't have a guilty feeling in his body. Just something to consider.
Max strikes me as the mousey type. I wonder who makes the decisions in that family. It does make sense in one way that they would loose some money if Jared wasn't he keynote speaker. He brought more money in than Sonya but look at the end result, he's not the keynote speaker now that he's dead. Did anyone ask for their money back without Jared speaking? I doubt that. Elvis fans are Elvis fans. They really don't care who talks unless there is a lot of publicity about something new. They might be disappointed but they wouldn't leave.
No one has said what time the cocktail party was over Friday night. Maybe who ever did it stayed behind, hidden, when it closed. Otherwise, we have to figure out why Jared was there before the center opened at 8am and who let him in. Who had a key or who had access to one besides Max and his wife?
I think we also need to round up all the impersonators and check their costumes for missing rhinestones.
So many questions going through my mind and right now, no answers.

I agree with you about people getting brainwashed in some of these kinds of cults. Carl Warren was even called a pastor, as Jim Jones was. Warren was a shyster and he didn't even like Elvis Presley. I think people just look for this kind of person to somehow give them meaning to their idolatry.

I'm still not sure about Max. It just seems to me that he was trying to point the police to someone else, other than himself.

Do you think that maybe Jared had an appointment that morning and whoever it was with, let him in? If that were true, then it would have to be someone connected with the Center, wouldn't it? I'm going to the AtD to see if Jared had an appointment with someone.
