Detective Armstrong and I were able to get search warrants for three residences and for biological samples from three persons of interest. We're in the process of executing those warrants and hope to find the evidence we need to close the case very soon.
The local newspaper published an article about the investigation. I'm not sure we agree with all of their assertions, but the article included some interesting information.
This update includes the search warrants and press coverage of the investigation.
Who killed Philip Fontaine?
The Whodunit Contest is now open
Do you have a theory about who killed Philip Fontaine? Why not enter it in the Whodunit Contest? You could win a prize, not to mention the admiration of your fellow web sleuths.
You can enter any time between now and Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.
Rather not write a theory?
You can still participate in the Whodunit Contest by voting in our polls. Tell us who the killer is, what the motive was, and more by casting your vote.
For Thursday, we'll be working on the inventories from those searches we're doing. We also hope to do follow-up interviews with the people associated with the warrants, if they're willing to cooperate.
Visitor, do you have everything you need to form your theory of the case and enter the Whodunit Contest? If not, come by the site and let us know via the comments or Ask the Detective what other info will help you solve the case.
All the best,
Det. Murphy
