Could it not simply be that with regard to the timeline discrepancy around the 911 call, that the recorded time of the call is the accurate one, and that the eyewitnesses have only provided an approximate time?

Surely it's just a question of their perception of the time being approximate.

  • MissSnoop started a new discussion Alden...
Hey there Detectives Can you confirm whether there was any discussion with Linda Alden regarding what may have happened to Kimberley Pace? I can't imagine you would have entered into speculation with a witness, particularly as you were still fact gathering and as yet, had no idication of her death being murder - but did you even mention where Kim...

    hey coralieblues

I can understand you feeling suspicious, but I'm still convinced the pregnancy issue has any real relevance to the murder.

Of course, potentially being pregnant (and with whom) could be reason enough to be evasive or at least uncomfortable when questioned about it. Cheryl may well have had a relationship with someone other than Tommy Quinn, but even if she did I don't see it as having any bearing on the actual murder.

These enquiries and investigations can uncover lots of secrets and forces people to be relatively 'honest' so it's not unusual to have many lines of enquiry - some of which turn out to be nothing more than speculative gossip.

    Hope you're well?

  • MissSnoop replied to the topic Re: Carter Nichols - just a very rough theory... in the forum.
I am leaning toward thinking the pregnancy test and cash are red herrings - designed to throw question on Kimberley's character.

Much more likely that the crushing grief of Arthur Beck losing his wife, forced him into focusing his sadness and anger against Kimberley, and by extension, her dog.

Something must've happened to tip him over the edge that evening but I'm still unclear on what this catalyst might have been. I am thinking she might have found Thoreau in the yard sick from an attempted poisoning.

Maybe, Kimberley goes and finds Arthur working in his garden and they go at it again about her dog. Kimberley might even have made derisive comments about how she couldn't believe how Frannie (his deceased wife) put up with him. We've seen how venomous and angry Kimberley could feel in her journal excerpts.

Arthur flips, and attacks her, in his own garden, with his shovel or hoe.
Maybe he uses his garden wheelbarrow to move Kimberley back into her house and stages the 'fall'.

I haven't looked at the stalker angle, the Carter Nichols angle or really considered the pregnancy/money/student element as being highly relevant.

    Any thoughts

  • MissSnoop created a new topic Motives in the forum.
    Hey

Thought it might be useful to document our ideas of what motive each suspect might have to want to Kimberley Pace dead.

If we can try to keep it purely evidence based that might be really helpful - rather than including any details or ideas which are not strongly suggested in interviews, evidence or bios.

Please feel free to add your own suspects too!

Paul Evans (the boyfriend) - rumours of infidelity/closeness with Kimberley's students was enough to split them up (again), but is it enough to commit murder?

Laurence Bicker (the faculty colleague) - some professional conflict escalates?

Cody Matthews (the stalker) - crime of passion? Seems a stretch to me, but he was obviously a cause for concern for Kimberley.

Arthur Beck (the neighbour) - growing conflict and resentment over Kimberley's dog and grief over loss of Beck's wife?
