Jerry Dean Shaw was born July 19, 1978 in Taylor, Mississippi to Chad and Jane Shaw. Chad operated and owned his own construction company and Jane worked as an office manager for an insurance company. Jerry has one sibling, an older brother, Phil Shaw. When the boys were old enough they were left home to take care of themselves while their parents worked.
They lived in a nice, middle-class neighborhood and had lots of kids to hang around with. But Phil had all the friends. Jerry was the aggressive one. He bullied all the kids including his brother and threatened to beat them up if he didn't get his way. He was constantly being grounded by his parents for his actions.
After their parents were killed in a drive-by shooting, Phil tried to keep his brother in line and tried to teach him right from wrong. Jerry never listened, and soon the brothers grew to hate each other.
Throughout his elementary and high school years. Jerry barely scraped by. He attended Oxford High School where he was a problem student from the start. He didn't respect his teachers and acted up in class. He talked back to the teachers and was always disrupting the class. He was rude and disrespectful to the other students. Needless to say, he didn't make a lot of friends in high school. He dated a few girls but never had a steady girlfriend because of his attitude.
After the death of their parents the boys received a substantial inheritance from insurance and a savings account.
Phil graduated Oxford High, continued his education, and built a successful business.
Jerry made it through two years of high school before he dropped out. With the money Jerry inherited, he saw no need to go to school. After he gambled away all the money, he applied for a job at the Yoknapatawpha Acres Nursing Home. He had no experience but the nursing home hired him and gave him on-the-job training. The place was a dump but Jerry knew it was the perfect place for him to work. It would be a skate job since no one seemed to care. He liked the idea of keeping the old people in line.
On April 10, 2010 while working his shift at Yoknapatawpha Acres Nursing Home, Jerry Shaw was found dead near the dumpster out back of the building.
